Last week, we had the privilege of co-hosting an event with AMEND Consulting and Heartland Ventures at the 1819 Innovation Hub to explore how businesses can maximize efficiency, productivity, and enterprise value with AI. Two panels highlighted approaches for embedding AI into business processes to drive sustainable growth and showcased real-world case studies demonstrating how AI solutions can help overcome operational challenges, optimize resources, and deliver measurable impacts on enterprise value. The takeaway was clear - leaders need to start the journey of implementing AI into their organizations. Start small by automating repetitive tasks, leveraging existing solutions based on your industry and use cases, and preparing your team for adoption. Tuesday night, we hosted our First Annual Gratitude Event, a celebration inspired by the core principles that define our firm: Grit, Abundance, Service, Impact, and in this case, most importantly - Gratitude. Our favorite season of Thanksgiving is a time that truly reflects the values we strive to embody daily - thus, the creation of this special event. We walked away from the evening blessed, humbled and proud, reflecting on the incredible community we're privileged to work for every day: Our investors and founders, fellow capital providers, and strategic corporate partners who drive us forward. What does AI mean to the average business? Two years ago, OpenAI launched ChatGPT to the public. Within 5 days, it surpassed 1mm active users. Within 1 year, it surpassed 100mm active users. Today, it has 200mm+ active users. Despite the unprecedented recent growth of platforms such as ChatGPT and the immense media attention they have drawn, the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning are not new. The first AI program, Logic Theorist, was written by Allen Newell, Herbert Simon, and Cliff Shaw nearly 70 years ago. So, if the field is not new, why does it matter now and why should you care? Simply put, over the past few years, AI has advanced faster than any other technology in human history. It is positioned to impact and transform every single functional aspect of business, regardless of industry or vertical. Leaders and employees alike need to bring this reality to the top of their minds. AI will not kill your business, but a competitor with AI will. We like to think of AI as the great equalizer. Every business now has the potential to operate at a multiple of productivity to their former self. Redundant tasks can be automated, employees can have personal expert assistants and strategic decision-making can be improved. Not tomorrow, but today, AI can already help your business increase revenue, reduce costs, and operate more effectively. If you are not already, we strongly recommend developing a roadmap and implementing AI into your business. Start small by 'micro-tasking'. Identify the most tedious, process-driven tasks in your business (i.e., invoice processing, note-taking, scheduling calls, etc.). Identify one of the many solutions on the market and give it a try. Even better, look for external help. Many experts can provide guidance and advice, and there are many more that provide professionalized services to walk with you through the journey. A shipment of consumer electronics was recovered from a rail pilferage in Indiana over the weekend. Overhaul’s LE Connect team, in collaboration with law enforcement, resulted in the interruption of the theft in progress, and the thieves fleeing without taking the pilfered cargo.
Northern Kentucky and the Corridor of Commerce continue transforming with the coming addition of SparkHaus - an entrepreneurial hub in the heart of Covington, KY for founders, capital providers, and service providers. Sparkhaus officially began construction in September.
