- 📣 ECIA Names Mike Morton, TTI, Inc. as Board Chairman ECIA is pleased to announce Mike Morton, CEO of TTI, Inc. has accepted the role of ECIA Board Chair. Mike has served TTI for 40+ years in various leadership positions, most recently providing exceptional leadership as chief operating officer. “It’s with great pride that I have been selected to Chair the ECIA Board of Directors for the next two years,” Mike commented. “I’m honored to follow many of the best people in our industry that preceded me, and most specifically Mark Shiring who set an example I can only hope to emulate...” Mike takes over the Chair position from Mark Shiring, CEO, Americas region, ebm-pabst, Inc. ECIA and its board of directors extend their gratitude to Mark for his significant contributions to the industry and the ECIA board. - 📣 ECIA CEO David Loftus Reappointed to CMA Board of Directors! ECIA is pleased to announce that President and CEO David Loftus has been reelected to a second 3-year term on the NAM Council of Manufacturing Associations’ board of directors. The National Association of Manufacturers announced the new 2025 leadership for its Council of Manufacturing Associations (CMA) at their 2025 Winter Leadership Conference. The CMA’s mission is focused on bolstering the industry’s nationwide grassroots mobilization efforts and improving the competitiveness of manufacturers in the United States. CMA members work with the NAM to unite the manufacturing association community, and ultimately the broader business community, around strategies for increased manufacturing job creation, investment, and innovation in America. Made up of 260 industry-specific manufacturing associations representing 130,000 companies worldwide, the CMA creates powerful partnerships across the industry and ensures manufacturers have the strongest possible voice. ECIA Foundation’s PACE is a unique training program for ECIA members and sponsor companies that explains key concepts and terminology to employees new to the electronics industry. “The original 10 courses in our PACE curriculum have trained over 1500 member employees and we’re thrilled to offer five new courses focused on reaching and calling on the customer, before and after the sale,” explained ECIA’s President and CEO David Loftus. - 📊 December Electronic Components Sales Sentiment Survey Participants Express Enthusiasm for January 2025 Outlook Compared to December The December ECST survey of supply chain participants found that concerns about December sales were moderated from the November outlook. The November survey projected an overall index score of 94.4 which would have been the lowest since the prior December. “The actual results measured in the December survey found concerns moderated somewhat with an actual score of 98.4, a steep drop from November but in line with prior months’ results,” explained ECIA Chief Analyst Dale Ford. “The encouraging news comes in the outlook for January 2025 with a forecast leap of 16.8 points up to an overall score of 115.2.
