- Congratulations to The Schochet Companies and Jonathan Rose Companies - Riverside Towers is a phenomenal community that prioritizes resident comfort and sustainability. Embue is proud to be a small part of this wonderful project.
Riverside Towers, a joint venture between Schochet and Jonathan Rose Companies in Medford, MA, was recognized as a Community of Quality Exemplary Development for the Elderly by New England Affordable Housing Management Association at its Annual Conference and Trade Show earlier this month. The award recognizes outstanding property-management companies that demonstrate the highest possible quality of safe, affordable housing for lower-income individuals at particular sites. Riverside Towers, a 200-unit high-rise building serving approximately 250 elderly and disabled residents, includes amenities, social services and panoramic views of the Boston skyline. In 2023, the building underwent a multi-million dollar renovation to increase accessibility and update critical building systems. The building’s new sustainability features demonstrate a holistic approach to green affordable housing, qualifying it for Enterprise Green Communities certification. Each unit also received substantial upgrades, such as new kitchens and bathrooms designed to improve the quality of life of current and future residents. Hebrew SeniorLife was retained as an on-site resident services provider, offering its nationally recognized R3 Program (Right Care, Right Place, Right Time), which provides place-based services to improve emotional and physical well-being, increase independence and longevity, and reduce health care-costs. Hebrew SeniorLife uses the new on-site amenity spaces for programming that includes audiology and podiatry clinics, a library, state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga studio, salons for people and pets, and dedicated space for a nurse care manager. Residents are benefiting from both group and one-on-one fitness instruction, which has resulted in increased mobility As a result of the renovations, amenities and services, Riverside Towers has enhanced the ability for residents to remain independent and age in place for a longer period of time, enjoying their home and community.
