About us

Erlanger, named among "America's Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report, is a non-profit, academic teaching center affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Erlanger is also a Level-One Trauma Center for adults and the only provider of tertiary care services for the citizens of an entire four-state region, encompassing southeast Tennessee, north Georgia, north Alabama and western North Carolina. With a history that dates back more than a century, Erlanger is recognized as one of the nation's finest public hospitals and a leader in healthcare. The Erlanger Health System includes Children's Hospital at Erlanger (CHE), the only academic medical center in the tri-state region devoted solely to children and is a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC)— the highest designation in the state for pediatrics. CHE has a full range of pediatric subspecialists, as well as a pediatrics ER, ICU, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit, providing the highest level of care in the region for premature and sick infants. Each year, more than a quarter of a million people are treated by the team of healthcare professionals who are part of Erlanger.

🚨 Erlanger Update 1/10/25 🚨 All Erlanger hospitals and Emergency Rooms remain open to care for our community. Visitors to Erlanger Baroness Hospital and Children’s Hospital at Erlanger should enter through the Main Entrance in the parking garage or via the Emergency Room entrance. Additional Updates: ❄️ Erlanger Western Carolina Express Care and Urgent Care locations: Closed today, 1/10, and tomorrow, 1/11 ❄️Elective surgeries: Cancelled for Friday, January 10, at Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, and Erlanger East Hospital, except for limited time-sensitive cases. ❄️Erlanger Medical Group locations: Closed, including Children’s Kennedy Outpatient Center and Erlanger Western Carolina locations, except Erlanger Urology, located in Murphy, NC. ❄️Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Erlanger FitPlus Gym, and Wound Care: Closed. *All locations at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital ❄️Erlanger Cancer Center (Baroness and East): Closed, including Radiation Oncology and Infusion Center. In preparation for anticipated inclement weather, Erlanger Medical Group (EMG) will close all its locations on Friday, January 10. This includes the Children’s Hospital Kennedy Outpatient Center and all Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital (EWCH) practices with the exception of the Erlanger Urology, Erlanger Express Care, and Urgent Care locations in Murphy, North Carolina. Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Erlanger FitPlus Gym, and Wound Care will also be closed. Additionally, all elective surgeries scheduled for Friday, January 10, at Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Erlanger East Hospital, and Children’s Hospital at Erlanger have been canceled. Affected patients are being contacted to reschedule their procedures as soon as possible. Erlanger outpatient imaging locations will close at 12:00 PM (Noon). Erlanger hospitals and emergency room locations will remain open. Our top priority is the safety of our patients, staff, and providers. Patients with scheduled appointments will be contacted to reschedule at a later date.
The 2025 Annual Erlanger Trauma Symposium provides expanded educational opportunities for trauma teams, including surgeons, emergency physicians, flight teams, paramedics, EMTs, nurses, and ancillary personnel such as respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and patient care technicians. Dynamic knowledgeable speakers will address topics at the forefront of trauma and critical care practice. We hope to see you there!
