A sight to remember - Fairfield Animal Hospital Kelowna staff lined the hall to celebrate a special moment as Tula was discharged after an incredible 20 days of care! Tula stayed with Fairfield for severe wound management following a vehicular accident, and she quickly captured their hearts. Their staff describes her as the sweetest, most lovable patient— as she became part of their family during her stay. 💚 After daily wound care, walks, feeding, and plenty of cuddles, Tula finally went home to continue her healing journey with her true family. We’re so proud of Tula’s resilience and incredibly grateful to the Fairfield team for their exceptional care. Sadie first arrived at Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty & Emergency with lethargy, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Initial tests suggested gastritis, but further diagnostics revealed a rare and life-threatening condition: colonic torsion. What is colonic torsion? 👉 it involves the colon twisting on itself, a serious issue requiring immediate attention. Surgical Clinician, Dr. Montes, worked diligently to untwist Sadie's colon, which was severely gas-distended. She performed a "colopexy" to secure the colon and a "gastropexy" to stabilize the stomach, preventing future rotations. Sadie’s recovery was smooth, and her owners did an amazing job keeping her calm. At her two-week recheck, Sadie was doing fantastic—staples removed, incision healing perfectly, and back to her life. Meet Poppy, a one-year-old Goldendoodle, and Autumn, ICU Tech, at Clarksville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty. 🤝 Poppy arrived at Clarksville unable to walk. Dr. Christina Miller diagnosed her with myasthenia gravis, a condition that affects nerve and muscle communication, leading to weakness and fatigue. This resulted in a secondary condition, megaesophagus, where Poppy's esophagus struggles to move food properly, causing regurgitation and difficulty swallowing. Now, Poppy needs to sit upright while eating and stay that way for 15 minutes afterward to keep her food down. Here’s a sweet moment with Autumn, giving Poppy extra cuddle time after her meal. Poppy stayed with Clarksville for care and support due to her lack of mobility but seeing moments like this are extra special. It's not a rare sight to see veterinary technicians and nurses on the floor to support patients in any way that they need with a bright smile on their face.
