About us

The Fisher House program provides “a home away from home” for service members, veterans, and their families who are receiving medical treatment at a military or VA hospital. These special houses provide free temporary lodging, private suites, and are walking distance to the medical centers. The homes not only create an instant community for its residents, but also provide each family with a secure and private refuge after a long day to rest and recharge.

We share a common passion with Navy Federal Credit Union , a mission to serve the military, Veterans, and their families. Our Veterans at Fisher House Foundation wanted to thank Navy Federal for their continued support in helping military and Veteran families during the most difficult times. Their support helps reduce the financial burden of expensive hotel costs so that military families can focus on recovery. Because a family's love is good medicine.

At 104, Army veteran David G. Perez has lived a long, full life of devotion to his family and country. "When in service, I thought of my family and friends. I'm proud of my country, but my family is what kept me strong." Enlisting in 1941, he received two Bronze Stars during his service. Later he married and had two daughters and, today, his daughter Felicia is his caregiver. After a fall caused a TBI, David and his daughter were able to stay at Fisher House.
