🌍 Rotatie in Vlaamse diplomatie Gisteren startte een nieuwe fase voor de Diplomatiek Vertegenwoordigers van Vlaanderen (DVV’s). De Vlaamse diplomaten namen dan officieel hun nieuwe standplaatsen in om Vlaanderen te vertegenwoordigen in strategisch gekozen landen, regio’s en organisaties wereldwijd. Waarom is dit belangrijk? In een tijd waarin globalisering steeds verder gaat, spelen onze Vertegenwoordigers een cruciale rol in het versterken van het internationale netwerk van Vlaanderen. Ze doen dit onder meer door: 📝De Vlaamse belangen in belangrijke grensoverschrijdende en internationale dossiers te behartigen, bv. op vlak van energie, Onderzoek & Ontwikkeling, samenwerking met de havens. 🌍Het imago van Vlaanderen te versterken en Vlaanderen te positioneren als een betrouwbare partner, o.a. door middel van culturele en academische samenwerking. 🤝Relaties uit te bouwen, te onderhouden en te netwerken. 🧐Samenwerkingsopportuniteiten te detecteren. 🔍Politieke, sociale en economische ontwikkelingen op te volgen. Today at Flanders House, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Rakoen Maertens, a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University specializing in the psychology of misinformation, fake news, digital democracy, foreign interference and propaganda. Yves Wantens and Tanuja Munnoo started in DC with colleagues from State Department, National Gallery, Doughboy Foundation, Belgian Police Liaison, Belgian Defense Attaché, Delegation of Catalunya, WW1 Centennial Commission and the organizers of Hawaii on the Hill, Senator Hirono, Sherry Menor-McNamara and Adrian Kamali'i , Mayor Richard Bissen from Maui, our Hawaian friends. It has been a pleasure working with them while becoming friends. And we made it finally to the White House.
