- This afternoon, a federal judge in Texas struck down the Department of Labor Regulations raising the salary threshold for the white-collar exemptions. Judge Sean D. Jordan of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas struck down both the $58,656 threshold that was scheduled to go into effect January 1, 2025, but also struck down the increase in the salary basis test that took effect July 1 of this year. Given the change of administration coming in January, it is unlikely that any appeal filed by the current Department of Labor will be maintained. Thus, employers should consult with counsel to discuss compliance with current regulations in light of this decision.
- Our firm was proud to participate in the Academies of Central Arkansas Career Expo, where students connected with industry professionals across Central Arkansas. Our attorneys engaged with students, providing guidance on exploring the legal profession. The program is a collaboration between businesses and schools, preparing students for careers, lifelong learning, and leadership. Academies of Central Arkansas Little Rock Regional Chamber
