Research has found that 65 percent of the general population are visual learners. Yet, film review is usually reserved for high school, college, and pro athletes. But what about the young athletes who are just learning the game? Seeing yourself on video can be a powerful tool. It builds confidence, fosters a positive mindset, and helps players grow on and off the court. That’s where GameChanger Film Room comes in. We all know Coach Lisa Bluder for leading the University of Iowa Women’s Basketball program to two NCAA national championship games in 2023 and 2024, mentoring some of the game’s brightest stars, including Caitlin Clark. But beyond the court, Coach Bluder is also a mom. Throughout her Hall-of-Fame career, she admits that she missed some of life’s moments—many centered around youth sports—while traveling with her team. Earlier this year, we launched our inaugural “Stay and Play Champions” program to help youth in their communities gain access to sports—and stick with them. We selected five Champions from across the country, each supported by incredible partner organizations that, alongside GameChanger, are working to bring equity and play persistence to their communities. These partners are leaders in their fields, which is why we're excited to share practical tools and insights for coaches and parents created by these incredible organizations: Athletes for Hope, Special Olympics Pennsylvania, and Women's Sports Foundation. 👟 Athletes for Hope’s "Adaptive Ally Toolkit" offers resources to help coaches and parents foster inclusion and support for athletes with disabilities. 🏅 Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s "Principles of Meaningful Involvement" provides strategies for building respectful and inclusive teams that value every athlete’s contribution. 🤾♀️ Women's Sports Foundation’s "Tips to Get a Girl Active" shares actionable ideas to inspire girls to participate in sports and stay physically active. These resources live on our new site and are designed to help communities foster development-focused environments for youth athletes.
