This morning, we came together with our Veterans Alliance Employee Resource Group to honor veterans by raising the American flag to celebrate Veterans Day. Although the flag flies high above Appliance Park every day, today served as a special moment to express our gratitude for the service, dedication, and sacrifice of the many veterans within our company and across our community. #VeteransDay

🏆 #IDSAIDEA 2024 winner spotlight: GE Appliances ACCESS Kit, designed by Arvid Roach, IDSA, Jake Gillespie, IDSA, Chris Bissig, IDSA, Nathanael Spurling, and Kyle Kim for GE Appliances, a Haier company, received a gold International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) in the Social Impact Design category. #IDSAIDEAThe ACCESS Kit is a set of transparent tactile stickers designed to make thousands of GE Appliances accessible to blind and visually impaired users. Developed in collaboration with the American Printing House for the Blind, this kit includes over 450 transparent tactile stickers that can be easily applied to a wide variety of products to help blind users navigate their appliance interfaces. These clear stickers are placed directly over existing controls—none of the original labels are obscured. Though it was created for GE Appliances, the ACCESS Kit works with any brand of appliances. 👉Learn more about this project and browse the winners of the 44th annual International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) at idsa.org/IDEA
