- The race to prevent the worst effects of climate change will require unifying all sides of the sustainability landscape — from technology providers to project developers to funders and asset managers. Gathering for #NYCW each year is an opportunity to convene with so many of the people working to make this happen. This year's Climate Week was an especially exciting one for Generate, as we hosted three events throughout the week: — Our panel on Tax Equity and the IRA, featuring Generate's Jessie Robbins, Nicholaus List of Ryan, and Andrew Vietze of Pine Gate Renewables, and moderated by Pippa Stevens of CNBC. — Our panel on Creative Credit Strategies to Build the Transition to Net Zero, featuring Generate's William Sonneborn, Tadeu Carneiro of Boston Metal, and Katie Rae of Engine Ventures, and moderated by Matthew Zeitlin of Heatmap News. — Our 10-year anniversary party, where we celebrated a decade of advancing #SustainableInfrastructure with our partners, investors, colleagues, and friends. We're very grateful for all those working together to develop and scale the technology, provide the capital, and build the projects needed to rebuild the world.

- Ten years of proving that sustainability wins. Earlier this week, we celebrated Generate's 10-year anniversary alongside many of the partners, investors, colleagues, and friends who have supported us for the last decade. These last 10 years have been a testament to the impact that providing bespoke capital solutions and solving real customer problems can have on the infrastructure transition. As we look ahead to the next 10 years, we are excited to continue expanding our platform and mobilizing human and financial capital at a bigger scale to help rebuild the world. #NYCW #SustainableInfrastructure

My #NYCW was a short one - on the train home reflecting on an exciting discussion yesterday on "Tax Equity & the IRA" hosted by Pippa Stevens and featuring Nicholaus List of Ryan and Andrew Vietze of Pine Gate RenewablesMy key takeaways - - We don't need new policy support. We need to digest the provisions we already have and improve upon what's there via implementation. - Transferability is transforming renewable energy financing, but it sure isn't making it simpler. - We are likely entering a new phase of this post-IRA landscape, as (i) domestic manufacturing really starts to ramp, (ii) we transition to tech-neutral 45Y and 48E, and (iii) hybrid transferability structures begin to take root. We're excited by what's on the horizon and look forward to continuing our work with great partners to deploy sustainable infra solutions! -

As Generate prepares to celebrate our 10th anniversary during New York Climate Week, we are reflecting on our decade of experience as a sustainable infrastructure investor and operator. While so much has changed during our firm’s tenure – from emerging technologies to landmark legislation – there are enduring characteristics of the #SustainableInfrastructure transition that Generate has oriented around since our inception. We are excited to highlight our reflections through our new video series. First up: The infrastructure transition requires bespoke capital solutions. Generate was founded to solve a crucial problem: the capital markets weren’t financing infrastructure transition projects at the speed and scale necessary to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. The infrastructure transition represents a $9 trillion per year opportunity for investors through 2050. Financing these assets requires bespoke solutions including a flexible, long-term, and large capital base. Learn more from Generate’s CEO and cofounder Scott Jacobs and President William Sonneborn. Watch the video: https://lnkd.in/eZMRCy9u - Generate is thrilled to celebrate the official opening of a next-generation hydroponic greenhouse facility that we supported through our investment in Better Future Farms, the Virginia-based developer and operator of high-tech greenhouses. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with remarks from Generate’s COO Nam Tran Nguyen and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. We are proud to be part of the effort to expand Virginia’s growing indoor agricultural industry. We’re excited about projects like these that bring together investors, operators, distributors, and builders to deliver real climate and community impact. This high-tech hydroponic greenhouse will maximize the efficiency of our water and land use – all while expanding regional economic opportunities by creating local jobs. The facility is located on a 61-acre site in Louisa County and will annually produce several million pounds of high-quality leafy greens for major retailers and food services customers. 📷: Jen Fariello

In August, ERCOT power demand reached an all-time peak of 85,559 MW amid a record-setting heat wave. Unlike during previous heat-driven demand surges, this time ERCOT successfully maintained service without sending power conservation requests to customers, a difference largely attributable to the #solar and #battery storage supply that helped stabilize Texas’ grid. Generate is excited to celebrate this milestone and progress toward building a distributed, decarbonized and resilient grid. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gWJGj57M
