On July 25th, GI Real Estate signed a major lease with DataBank for a new data center in Ashburn, Virginia. The lease will encompass the entirety of a new two-story data center GI Partners is currently constructing, with delivery expected in Q2 2025. GI Partners’ New York office community service day supported City Parks Foundation. The team scraped and painted 119 feet of wrought iron fencing, which helps maintain a bright, welcoming, and clean park for all. When parks flourish, neighborhoods do as well.
It was a pleasure to host our limited partners from all over the world in New York for our 2024 GI Data Infrastructure AGM on May 15-16th. Plenty of recent activity to report out, including three new platform investments, two follow-on acquisitions, and multiple strategic capital events at the portfolio level (including our first significant realization). In addition, the GI DI team made the case for a compelling investment environment by viewing broad thematic trends such as Generative AI and residential broadband through a 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆-𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 lens. GI Partners’ 24-year history of investing in data infrastructure provides crucial context to the themes of the moment.
