🎉 Project Success Story from Whidbey Island 🎉 GSI is proud to announce the successful completion of a revitalization project at Whidbey Island, Washington, where we renovated a community playground to improve both safety and enjoyment for local families. The upgraded playground now features modern concrete sidewalks, bike paths, vibrant artificial turf, and innovative poured-in-place play surfaces. Families can now enjoy brand-new play equipment and shade canopies, all surrounded by fresh fencing and secure gates. The project was completed in approximately 4.5 months of fieldwork, utilizing 4,793 man-hours with zero lost time. It began with the demolition of the existing playground, including the removal of concrete sidewalks, play surfaces, play equipment, fencing, and trees that were no longer viable. Our team then regraded the area and installed a state-of-the-art drainage system to eliminate seasonal flooding that had plagued the site for years. A big thank you to our outstanding project team for their hard work in making this project a highlight in the Northwest Region: Sarah Tandal, Roger Norris, Abraham M., Mark V., Jarin Manuel, Mira Burhan, and Annette Leach. GSI’s construction division is committed to enhancing the world around us through innovative projects that create meaningful, positive change. We build safe, sustainable, and inspiring environments that enrich communities and improve the quality of life. #TeamGSI #Construction -

Employees were encouraged to bring school-themed dishes, and the spread was 'ono (Hawaiian for delicious). We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including local favorites like the classic #SpamMusubi and #Malasadas (Portuguese doughnuts). It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, share a meal, and savor the flavors that make our community special.#TeamGSI #Hawaii

Ka Lā Hānau o Ke Ali`i Liliu`okalani On this day, we honor the legacy of aloha and resilience left by Queen Liliʻuokalani, Hawaiʻi’s last reigning monarch. Born Lydia Liliʻu Loloku Walania Wewehi Kamakaʻeha on September 2, 1838, she ascended the throne in 1891 following the death of her brother, King Kalākaua. Despite the challenges she faced, including the overthrow and coup d'état of the Hawaiian Kingdom in 1893, Queen Liliʻuokalani remained steadfast in her commitment to her people. In her will, the Queen entrusted her estate to provide for orphaned children of Hawaiian blood, later amended to include other destitute children. Her legacy is perpetuated today by the Liliʻuokalani Trust and the thousands of children and families transformed through her generosity. She is perhaps best known for her enduring legacy in Hawaiian music, particularly her composition "Aloha ʻOe" (Farewell to Thee). Written in 1878, the song expresses a poignant farewell and a simultaneous sense of hope, reflecting both the beauty of Hawaiʻi and the Queen's deep connection to her people. “Aloha oe, aloha oe, E ke onaona noho i ka lipo, One fond embrace, A hoi aea au, Until we meet again.” Queen Liliʻuokalani’s birthday welcomes us into September, Hawaiian History Month.#QueenLiliuokalani #HawaiianHistoryMonth #Aloha
