Our 424-bed tertiary care and teaching facility offers 24/7 acute care and is one of only two Level I Trauma Centers in the county. On this #FeelGoodFridays, we highlight 4-month-old Owen Cruz. His mother, Rebecca, brought Owen to the pediatric emergency room with flu-like symptoms. After several tests, the doctors found he had pneumonia and was, in fact, positive for the flu. Rebecca had to say this about their time at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital: "I'll begin by saying that all the stuff other hospitals have, they have it as well. The pediatric emergency department was great, the doctor was excellent and in the room the majority of the time. Everything was done quickly. I didn't have to wait hours to be put in a room or seen by a doctor. Whatever you need is given to you right away, they listen to you and work as a team to help the baby. On this #FeelGoodFridays, we celebrate Lorenne Cabrera, who gave birth at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital three days after evacuating Port Saint Lucie because of Hurricane Milton. Lorenne, her husband, and her 12-year-old came to stay with her brother in Miami, and then her water unexpectedly broke. "I had heard a lof of good things about Kendall Hospital which was why I decided to come here to deliver my baby. The labor and delivery nurses were amazing, they never left me alone and helped me through natural childbirth. Christopher was born healthy and weighed 7lbs 7ounces. I am very happy with my decision and would not change a thing!" said Lorenne Cabrera. Just as every baby is unique, so is every delivery.
