As we continue to recognize our HCA Healthcare Awards of Distinction winners please join us in congratulating Leanna Convertini, our 2024 recipient of The Excellence in Nursing Award for Compassionate Care! This award recognizes high-performing caregivers who demonstrate exceptional nursing knowledge and expert skills, and consistently apply both with compassion and integrity. Leanna is a part of our emergency department team and was nominated by a colleague for the way she cared for a scared child in our ER. Leanna’s colleague had the following to say about her: “The patient was a 3-year-old experiencing a fever and respiratory distress. The child was scared, but with a warm smile, sweet voice and coloring books the child’s affection was quickly won over. Not only did the child end up being ok with Leanna, but he also made a new best friend. On this #MissionMomentMonday and throughout this week we are recognizing colleagues who won an HCA Healthcare Award of Distinction. First up is our Frist Humanitarian Award. Created in 1971, this award honors outstanding individuals for their humanitarian and volunteer activities. Please join us in celebrating our volunteer winner, Doris Lewis! Doris has donated her time to this hospital for the last seven years. She is the treasurer of our auxiliary team and leader of the gift shop. It's because of Doris’ hard work in the gift shop that our volunteers are able to award scholarships to high school students pursuing a career in healthcare. It’s #FeelGoodFriday and we would like to congratulate Kristi Butts, Patient Care Technician, for being recognized with the Performing Exceptional Tasks and Affirming Lives (PETAL) Award! The award is given to exceptional caregivers who partner with nurses to care for our patients and their families. It was developed as a complementary program to the DAISY Award, which recognizes nurses for providing excellent care. Here are a few words from one of Kristi's patients: “Ms. Kristi was so busy the night she was my aide, but she was able to keep my bags of saline changed and running at the flow needed to keep me comfortable. She is very passionate about her patient’s well-being and went above and beyond her duties to keep me comfortable. I could not tell her enough that she is doing a great job!” We are so happy to have Kristi on our team and thank her for all she has done for this hospital!
