About us
HeadCount is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that promotes participation in democracy through music, culture, and digital media. Since 2004 the organization has registered one-million voters and worked with a long list of musicians and partners including Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Dave Matthews Band, JAY-Z, Beyoncé, March for Our Lives, RuPaul’s DragCon, MTV, and Dead & Company. With 40,000 volunteers, street teams in most major U.S. cities, and a presence at more than 1,000 events each year, HeadCount ranks as one of the most active grassroots civic participation organizations in the United States. Following COVID-19 restrictions, the organization quickly pivoted to an all-digital approach that led to innovation and online initiatives to fill the needs of the public in using their voices in democracy. - This year was unforgettable! Here's a quick summary of what we accomplished: - 492,246 voters registers (a new record!) - 3,322,535 voter actions -- which means that an average of 1 in 100 Americans got ready to vote with HeadCount - 3,797 events, including 50 music festivals and 100 tours To our artist partners, corporate sponsors, dedicated staff and volunteers, donors, family & friends: THANK YOU. Today we’re excited to unveil Time To Vote, a gamified civic engagement campaign launched in partnership with HeadCount Org, Lyft, TIME and 40+ creators! 41 million Gen Z'ers are eligible to vote in this election, with 8 million newly eligible. This campaign aims to drive 50k voters to check their voter registration status, get prepared to vote, and commit to recruit 2 others to make a voting plan, driving 150k people to action this election We aspire to creatively engage this generation by leveraging rewards, gamification, and immersive tech, supporting the civic process to better reach its potential. The campaign's reward pool contains $75,000 in rewards contributed by Lyft, Tony's Chocolonely, Snoop Dogg's Dr.Bombay / Bosslady Foods, SuperMush and more Time to Vote is built exclusively on the Solana blockchain.
