Their work highlights the role of AI and the critical need for accuracy in drug information. Are you ready for TEAM? The Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM) launches in January 2026, bringing another new mandatory bundled payment. What is TEAM? • TEAM is a new mandatory 30-day episode-based payment model introduced by CMS. • TEAM emphasizes accountability for care coordination, cost containment and quality improvement across five defined surgical episodes: coronary artery bypass, lower extremity joint replacement, major bowel, surgical hip/femur care and spinal fusion. Who is Impacted? • 741 hospitals will be required to participate in TEAM, managing costs and quality for the specific care episodes noted above. How Will They Be Impacted? • Participants will continue to bill under the traditional fee-for-service system. • Participants will be held financially accountable for episodes in TEAM. • At the end of each performance year, participants may receive a positive or negative reconciliation based on their quality composite score and how spending compares to their region target price. We’re proud to share that Samantha Randlett, PharmD, our second-year Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Resident, presented her project, “Developing Pharmacy Processes for a National Group Purchasing Organization in Non-Acute Settings,” at the ASHP Clinical Meeting in New Orleans. Samantha’s project is rooted in HealthTrust’s continued growth in the non-acute space and aims to improve cost savings while delivering greater value to our members. As part of her residency, she will collect and analyze data to assess the impact of these process improvements.
