- Meet Amitha Smith, one of our brightest stars! You will generally hear Amitha before you see her, as her joyful voice and spirit radiate throughout the halls of our Children's Hospital. She works as a Unit Coordinator with our adolescent boys and sometimes helps on our children’s unit. She is incredibly dedicated to her work, and you will often see her staying late to assist with visits on family/loved one visitation days. Amitha has worked in behavioral health for 25 years and shared how rewarding it is to work at our facility. She said, "I love people. My passion is to help people, help themselves. Someone helped me when I was younger, and it's my responsibility to pay it forward." How incredibly fortunate we are to have Amitha as one of our Holly Hill Rock Stars! Pictured next to Amitha on the left is Beth, Director of Business Development.
- Meet Christina, the warm and welcoming face of our facility! With her beautiful, strong New York accent, she greets everyone, whether on the phone or in person, like they are an old friend. She effortlessly handles phone calls and in-person interactions, maintaining her cool composure with an infectious smile that shines so brightly through the phone. Christina truly embodies the perfect first impression. We are so incredibly fortunate to have her as one of our Holly Hill Rock Stars! Next to Christina on the right is Beth, Director of Business Development.
- What better way to offer high-quality behavioral support to your patients than to have every member of your hospital team receive training on Trauma-Informed Care!? Holly Hill Hospital recently hosted Dr. Donna Midkiff, Regional Director of Clinical Services. She presented several sessions of Trauma-Informed Care to packed rooms of employees eager to learn how they can connect more deeply with their patients and truly meet them where they are in their mental health journeys.
- Several members of our team enjoyed an evening of education at WakeMed Hospital last week. Dr. Laura Politte presented a timely presentation about the social, emotional, and cognitive challenges many children face as they head back to school. We shared with the attendees the services we offer to support both children and their parents as they face these challenges. Pictured in the bottom team photo from left to right are Beth Adams, Director of Business Development; GINA YVETTE BUSSEY, Outpatient Therapist; Dr. Tarra Bates, Director of Clinical Services; Jonathan K. Hardeman II, BSN-RN, COO; Christal Wilson, Assistant Director of Clinical Services; Roberta Morgan, RN; and Alice Hawley, Director of Nursing.
- We love it when our community partners spoil our patients! This past summer, the patients at our Holly Hill Children's Hospital were treated to "Christmas in July" by The Cross Road Motorcycle Ministries. All the children received a variety of gifts, including fun prints of pajamas, games galore, and even much-needed personal items like deodorant, shower gel, and chapsticks. The highlight of the day was a motorcycle parade that the Motorcycle Ministry put on for the children. Our Children's Hospital Activity Director, Ms. Johnnie McManus, coordinated this event! A special thank you to Dr. Tarra Bates-Duford, Director of Clinical Services, and Christal Wilson, Assistant Director of Clinical Services, for also attending the event.
- Meet David, our Director of Food Services. In his spare time, David contributes to the community by mentoring young chefs who are preparing for certification by the American Culinary Foundation. In his free time, David enjoys supporting the soldier chefs at Ft. Liberty with their holiday ice carvings while also working on getting his private pilot's license. We are so lucky to have him on our team at Holly Hill Hospital! Pictured next to David on the right is Beth Adams, Director of Business Development.
- We proudly gave back to the community by donating school supplies to Walnut Creek Elementary School! This is just one of the many steps we are taking to make a difference! Pictured from left to right are Traca Williamson, David Voelz, Elizabeth Conley, Principal Jesse Gore, Chartisha Miller, Beth Adams, and Alice Parker.
- Our Business Development team recently met with Case Managers at Rex Hospital to discuss how we can contribute to the needs of those struggling in our community! We were honored to receive positive feedback highlighting several members of our Admissions team. If you or someone you know is struggling, we can help! Call 919-371-5543 for more information.
- Holly Hill Rock Star Alert! Meet Elizabeth Conley, aka Beth, our dedicated Infection Control Nurse. Beth's presence is unmistakable as soon as she walks into a room. With a confident voice, vibrant hair, and over 50 tattoos, she truly stands out. 🌈 Always on top of her game, Beth tirelessly shares valuable insights on maintaining a healthy, infection-free environment for both our patients and staff at Holly Hill. Before joining us, Beth served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as both an RN and a mechanic. One interesting fact about Beth is that if she were not a nurse, she might’ve been a hair stylist or a beautician! Outside of work, Beth dedicates her time to supporting the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, providing a safe and inclusive space for all. Thank you, Beth, for all you do for our Holly Hill staff and patients!
