Updates
- This week, we enjoyed honoring the 27 Veterans who work at Holly Hill Hospital. Thank you for your service to our country and our patients!
- Veteran Highlight Alert! Beth Conley is our Infection Control Nurse and is also an Army Veteran. She joined the Army at a point in her life when she wanted to be a part of something bigger than herself and needed a change in direction. #VeteransDay is special to Beth as it reminds her to remember her brothers and sisters in green who have sacrificed a lot for the greater good of our country. She was a light-wheel vehicle mechanic in the Army, so at Holly Hill, we all know who to go to when our cars are acting up. When she's not working at the facility, Beth enjoys petting her cats, reading, and getting more tattoos! Thank you for your service, Beth! We are so grateful to have your expertise at our facility, which makes such a positive difference here at Holly Hill!
- Veteran Highlight Alert! Reginald Waldon is our Military Liaison. He served 22 years in the U.S. Navy. While there, he served as a Chief Cryptologic Technician and deployed in support of Operations Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. He's completed tours in Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Texas, Okinawa, and Maryland. Since retirement, he has served in an array of positions related to serving fellow Veterans. When Reggie isn't working, he enjoys barbecuing, karaoke, and playing guitar. Thank you for your service, Reggie! We are so grateful to have your experience making such a positive difference here at Holly Hill!
- Rebecca Fuentes is our Admissions Referral Manager, and we would like to take the time to honor her for her service in the Army. “I wanted to find purpose, experience, and learn new things specific to my own intrinsic need to protect others,” shared Rebecca. She went on to say, “Veterans Day is a day to show gratitude toward those who have served the U.S.! I believe that this gratitude should be given especially to those who are drafted, those who came home to hostility from society, prisoners of war, foreign contractors hired to fight for the U.S., and all of those who came home without the resources and services that we have now.” When Rebecca isn’t working, she is spending time with her family, reading, camping, or traveling. Thank you for your service, Rebecca! We are so grateful to have your experience making such a positive difference here at Holly Hill Hospital.
- Holly Hill Children's Hospital provided a therapeutic and fun Halloween festival for our patients, ages 5-12, also known as our “littles.” Our patients explored self-expression through art and recreational therapy in an age-appropriate forum. As you can see from the photos, the staff had a great time as well! To learn more about the stories behind our walls, please reach out to Beth Adams, Director of Business Development at Elizabeth.Adams@uhsinc.com.
- We love being a resource to our local communities. This past weekend, we attended Fuquay Varina's Mental Health Resource event, sponsored by Fuquay Varina's Police Department. We shared about the inpatient and outpatient care we provide for children, adolescents, and adults. We also got to share about our new Patriot Support Program that will be opening soon. This specialized program will provide mental health support to Active-Duty Military, Veterans, and First Responders. Pictured is Barbara Villano, Business Development Coordinator, at the event. If you'd like to learn more about our services, please contact Beth Adams, Director of Business Development, at Elizabeth.Adams@uhsinc.com.
- We said goodbye and good luck to one of our favorites last week. Thank you to our Chef, David Voelz, for all you've done for us. We will miss you and wish you the absolute best of luck in your new chapter!
- We had the opportunity recently to be a vendor at the “Fall Veterans Resource Fair” at Fayetteville Technical Community College. We were among 30 vendors invited to share more about our mental health resources customized specifically for Veterans. If you'd like more information on our Patriot Support Program, please reach out to Beth Adams, Director of Business Development, at Elizabeth.Adams@uhsinc.com.
- Every month, we honor employees who have been chosen as our patients' favorites. This month, we are celebrating our Therapist, Sandra Sutton, and our Unit Coordinator, Robert Becerril. Sandra and Robert always greet everyone with a smile and are always asking how they can help others. We are so lucky to have them caring for our patients here at Holly Hill Hospital. Pictured from left to right in the first photo are Stacey Kennedy, Director of Performance Improvement; Sandra Sutton, Therapist; and Christal Wilson, Assistant Director of Clinical Services. Pictured from left to right in the second photo are Stacey Kennedy, Director of Performance Improvement; Robert Becerril, Unit Coordinator; and Beth Conley, Infection Control Nurse.
- Our Holly Hill Hospital team is always wanting to make the most of our employees' talents and passions. Recently, Opal, from our HR department, realized they wanted to get out from behind their desk and serve our patients more directly. We are excited to share that Opal will officially be serving our patients more directly as a Mental Health Technician starting this Friday! Do you have some talents and passions that you'd like to share? We'd love to find a place for you on our team! Visit http://spklr.io/6044vAme and apply today!
