Wrapping up an incredible week at #UNGA where I had the privilege of participating in important discussions that shed light on the power of #blendedfinance, its importance to continue attracting funding for #ClimateAction, and to the role of the private sector in addressing refugee inclusion. I also joined The World Bank President Ajay Banga, Makhtar Diop, and IFC colleagues during key engagements to discuss how the Bank Group and MDBs can continue to raise its ambition to create jobs, economic growth, combat climate change so the world can deliver on the #SDG goals. ➡️ At the SIRI Blended Finance Conference organized by Columbia University, we explored how blended finance can be the key solution to tackle pressing global issues like poverty, inequality, and climate change, when they go hand-in-hand with strong institutional frameworks and regulatory environments. ➡️️ In another important discussion hosted by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, we focused on the role of the private sector in addressing forced displacement and refugee inclusion. People in forced displacement settings are economic agents who can contribute to their host countries' development. IFC and #UNHCR’s Joint initiative combines our expertise to create meaningful impact for those affected by forced displacement. ➡️ WEF’s Giving to Amplify Earth Action (GAEA) convened government representatives, heads of philanthropy and climate investors to discuss converging catalytic funding for climate and nature solutions.
