The start and end of my day yesterday were both pretty great! Thank you to the Pacers Sports & Entertainment and Eli Lilly and Company volunteers for rooting on our kids as we kicked off the 3rd year of our NBA Math Hoops partnership! And, icing on the cake, getting my own drum solo as a part of the Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School’s performance at last night’s board meeting. I don’t know that I made them better, but it was fun! #TeamIPS

Sometimes, in the midst of a challenging period, I have days that-from start to finish-are full of events and people and messages that remind me of my purpose and encourage me to keep going. Yesterday was one of those days! 🛝A new playground built by the Indianapolis Colts for one of our elementary schools. 🩺The ribbon-cutting for our first-ever Indianapolis Public Schools employee health clinic, located at one of our schools. (So cool!) 🫶🏽An interview facilitated by my sisterfriend, Christina Grant 🥰, for other leaders from around the country (including some past, current, & future members of #TeamIPS!). I am encouraged and grateful! #KeepPushing
✂️ ✂️ Today, IPS hosted a ribbon-cutting for the new myIPS Employee & Family Clinic in partnership with Ascension at Howe Middle School! The clinic provides comprehensive healthcare services for IPS employees and their families. #TeamIPS

We’re thrilled to recognize three teachers from Shortridge High School for completing the required graduate coursework to teach dual credit courses 👏
James Whitcomb Riley has been rebuilt stronger! 👏 This was the first ribbon-cutting event celebrating the completion of a construction project made possible by the district’s #RebuildingStronger Capital Referendum which was overwhelmingly approved by voters in May 2023 to support facility improvements at 23 IPS schools, including James Whitcomb Riley.
