More than 50 million Americans live with chronic pain. But when is it time to see a pain specialist? In some cases, a primary care physician may have managed an ailment for years with conservative treatment, then refers you directly to a pain specialist when the situation turns chronic. While pain specialists treat a litany of ailments, spine disorders, including herniated discs in the lumbar (back) or cervical (neck) spine, are the most common issues. This month, the physicians and caregivers with INTEGRIS Health Canadian Valley Hospital unveiled their brand new CT scanner! With this new CT scanner, the physicians are able to capture greater imaging quality with fewer resources utilized. INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center proudly congratulates our newest Sunflower Award recipient, Tanner Ortery. 🎉 The Sunflower Award recognizes outstanding caregivers across multiple disciplines. A physical therapist with INTEGRIS Health Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation, Tanner joined us in June 2023 and quickly made an impact. After he excelled in our inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs, INTEGRIS Health was thrilled to welcome him as a full-time physical therapist. Beyond his PT skills, Tanner is also a prize-winning oil painter, cooking enthusiast and classic car restorer. Patients love his positive energy and exceptional care. We’re lucky to have him. Levi Reed was an active 14-year-old boy on the school cross country team in Jones, Oklahoma, when a pre-existing medical condition led him to suffer multiple strokes. He was fortunate enough to escape death but had to relearn how to walk and talk again. With the help of INTEGRIS Health Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation, he fought his way back with grit and determination.
