Today we are remembering and honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on this National Day of Service – a “day on, not a day off.” Serving our community is a year-round priority for us here at Jacobsen|Daniels. From volunteering with Ronald McDonald House Charities Ann Arbor to hosting office food drives, we are always looking for ways to come together as a team and give back. We hope this encourages you to think about how you may be able to get involved in your own backyard, no matter how big or small. This project holds special significance for us, as HOK founding partner Gyo Obata designed the original terminal in the 1950s. This prestigious award recognizes individuals committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the aviation industry, values that are reflected in Darryl’s work throughout his career. “Since Jacobsen|Daniels’ beginnings 20 years ago, it was always my vision that we’d be a company that embraces diversity. Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the inaugural Michigan Mobility Conference hosted at Newlab in Detroit. The ability to hear from Michigan’s mobility leaders on topics from infrastructure to policy was truly inspiring, and the reason why Michigan is leading the mobility charge. Among all of the topics, governance was the common theme throughout. The digital/software, mobility providers, and infrastructure need to have a cohesive solution involving governments, private entities, and individuals to develop the pathway forward.
