Formerly NECEC, ACT is the premier voice of businesses building a world-class clean energy hub in the Northeast.
About us
NECEC leads the just, equitable and rapid transition to a clean energy future and diverse climate economy. NECEC is the Northeast Clean Energy Council and NECEC Institute. NECEC helps clean energy companies start, scale and succeed with our unique business, innovation and policy leadership. We bring together business leaders and key stakeholders to engage in influential policy discussions and business initiatives while building connections that propel the clean energy industry forward. Our results-oriented team is highly skilled at turning a clear vision into reality and effectively influencing policy to build a world-class clean energy hub in the Northeast. The New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC) was formed in late 2006 when leaders in the Massachusetts’ clean energy industry saw the need for a regional business association to convene clean energy stakeholders dedicated to growing the state and the region’s clean energy economy. In October 2015, reflecting our growing activities in New York State and the rapidly growing community of member companies doing business in New York and across New England, NECEC became the Northeast Clean Energy Council.

🔋 Thank You to Everyone Who Joined Us for Transitioning to the Future Grid in Massachusetts! 🔋 On September 26th, ACT | The Alliance for Climate Transition, in partnership with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, hosted a pivotal event to shape the future of energy. It was an incredible gathering of minds from across the energy ecosystem—public and private leaders, communities, utilities, innovators, and academics—collaborating to drive forward the transition to an efficient, equitable, and clean grid. At the third event in the series, Sarah Cullinan, Senior Program Director for NetZero Grid at MassCEC, presented the Draft Recommendations that emerged from the stakeholders who participated in the events. We were honored to hear from Melissa Lavinson, Executive Director of the Office of Energy Transformation, who moderated a fireside chat with Chair James Van Nostrand from the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, Andrew Schneller, VP of Network Strategy & Regulatory at National Grid, and Digaunto Chatterjee, SVP of Engineering at Eversource Energy. Their insights highlighted the challenges and opportunities ahead. A special shout-out to Joe Curtatone, Alistair Pim, Tim Snyder, Sarah Cullinan, Natalie Hildt Treat, Barry Reaves, Aaron Jeffrey Frederick, and our amazing host, Benjamin Downing, at The Engine Accelerator. Your dedication to innovation and collaboration will undoubtedly lead to more inclusive, lasting solutions in our evolving energy landscape. Stay tuned for the finalized recommendations from the stakeholders, focusing on Incentive-Based Regulation, Fostering GridTech, and Democratizing Grid Planning.#FutureGrid #CleanEnergy #ACT #Innovation #Sustainability - Faces of the Climate Economy: Kristina Perez Championing Sustainability💚👏 At ACT, we are committed to driving diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice values (DEIJ) in the climate economy.
