The first King of Pops sale took place out of a Mexican paleta pushcart on a neighborhood street corner in Atlanta in 2010. We’ve continued our humble ways of selling out of pushcarts but have also expanded into catering, fundraising and wholesale. We recently created a Neighborhood Partner program, helping folks start their our King of Pops biz in their community. We have an enthusiastic and growing fan base, and we try our best to do things the right way. To us that means treating our employees well, being conscious of our environmental impact, making a ridiculously good product, and having fun.

Who doesn't like good popsicles.....especially ones that are all-natural, hand-crafted and gourmet flavored?! On a recent visit to King of Pops headquarters, I had an opportunity to spend some time with franchise development leader "Kat" Kathleen Harvin and the company co-founder Steve Carse. Together, they shared some great insights into the company history, culture and the business operations including a live view of the manufacturing/assembly process. After my conversation with Kat and Steve, it was quite apparent that King of Pops strives to be more than a food franchise featuring a variety of gourmet flavored popsicles, it's striving to foster an experience of engagement between its customers, franchisees (called Cartrepreneurs) and the greater community. King of Pops is a low cost-to-entry, mobile, simple and home-based franchise business that was founded in 2010 and begin franchising in the early part of 2022. King of Pops franchised their cart business (a pop push-cart) that is versatile enough to operate indoors or outdoors, making event opportunities almost limitless. The only thing that is needed to keep the cart frozen for hours is either dry ice or reusable cold plates. Franchisees can start with one cart and simply scale by adding more carts. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., where they make all of their unique and high-quality pops on site using the best ingredients and locally-sourced wherever possible. The ideal franchisee is described as someone who is community-driven, thoughtful, "possesses good vibes" and is not afraid to get sweaty!
