Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We have 3 offices in 13 counties to serve the children who reside in our region of Pennsylvania plus the state of Delaware and we have granted more than 7,900 wishes since our inception in 1986.

Earlier this month, DLL hosted their 21st Annual Golf Outing, which has cumulatively raised over $5.4 million for our chapter. We’re so grateful for DLL’s loyal and generous support and want to thank everyone who came out to make this year’s outing a success. Wishes give kids like Nyla hope for brighter days ahead. 🌟🐶 Wish mom Emily never imagined that her own daughter would be a patient in the hospital where she works: “She had started getting some little bruises on her collarbone, and as a nurse, I knew that wasn’t normal.” Nyla endured 56 grueling chemo treatments for her leukemia, and there was one thing that helped get her through: weekly visits with the hospital therapy dogs. Nyla knew she wanted a puppy of her own to bring daily comfort. Thinking of her wish gave Nyla the hope she needed. #WISHWEDNESDAY ⭐ 15-year-old Katherine’s dream to meet her favorite YouTuber and animator, Jaiden Animations, came true last week at TwitchCon! 💫 Katherine, who has a vascular disorder, loves all things animation, and this meeting was truly unforgettable. 🎨 Katherine spent time drawing with Jaiden, who made her feel right at home. Even though Katherine was a bit shy at first, Jaiden's warm and creative spirit brought her out of her shell. Together, they talked about everything from zoo trips to Jaiden’s bird, Ari—Jaiden even shared a live stream of Ari at home! The two bonded over their love of animation, and Katherine learned about Jaiden’s journey to creating her channel. They drew together, and Jaiden gifted Katherine a special painting of Ari. At the end of their time, Katherine said it was the best day of her life. 💙
Earlier this month, we had the incredible honor of welcoming Linda Pauling, the original wish mom and co-founder of Make-A-Wish, to Philadelphia for an inspiring evening of storytelling with our Wish Society members. Linda shared Christopher's story and the early days of Make-A-Wish, while Leanne, a wish alum, touched hearts with her personal wish journey. We are deeply grateful for Linda's visit and for the unwavering support of those who help bring hope to children in our region.
We’re kicking into fall with wish kid Landrey. Landrey loves football and dreams of one day becoming a professional player. He does not let his respiratory disorder hold him back from playing the sports he loves, so when he was granted a wish, he knew exactly what he wanted: his very own football field. Local supporters came together to help grant Landrey’s wish. Now, he can play and practice football with his family and friends in the comfort of his backyard – a source of daily joy. “I was so surprised! I really liked it,” Landrey said. ✨ "A magical week for Hailey and her family!" ✨ A little over a week ago, Hailey's wish came true at Woodloch Resort in the Poconos, and it was even more perfect than anyone could have imagined! Hailey, who has a nervous system disorder, had the time of her life surrounded by nature and animals—her favorite things! 🌲🐴 The highlight? Her very first horse ride, with the help of some kind and caring people at the resort. The memories her family created will last a lifetime, and we are so thankful to have been part of making this incredible wish a reality. 💙
Introducing September's recipient for Wish Granter of the Month: Valerie Colantuono! Valerie has been a Wish Granter since 2018 and currently serves as the Chair for our Young Professionals Board. Between Valerie's warm personality, her eagerness to help out in any way she can, and her passion for granting wishes, she is a top notch Wish Granter! When asked why Make-A-Wish, she stated that she enjoys being a part of the community and seeing the smiles on the children's faces. One of her favorite wish memories is with Brookelyn and seeing her Minnie Mouse inspired room. Valerie had the opportunity to help grant Brookelyn's wish to Disney World - a true wish come true moment. Please help me in congratulating Valerie on being Wish Granter of the Month! Valerie, thank you for always putting our wish children first and open to helping grant wishes in any way you can. You are a true rockstar Wish Granter!
