Marrillia Design and Construction has demonstrated experience in the design and construction of medical, financial, educational, mixed-use, parks and recreation, roadway and streetscape and restaurant related projects. Marrillia has completed projects throughout Kentucky and its clients include the Kentucky Department of Education, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and multiple government municipalities and private corporations. Marrillia self-performs site improvements (mass excavation, aggregate bases, storm and sanitary sewer systems) and its in-house general trades workforce can self-perform selective demolition, framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, door and hardware installation and Division 10 installation.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication and skill of our entire team - from bidding to project management, skilled trades, administration, accounting, and project coordination, as well as the outstanding work of our subcontractors. We are so pleased this Marrillia Design and Construction project designed by Lord Aeck Sargent for the University of Kentucky has been recognized by the Kentucky chapter of the American Institute for Architects.
Congratulations to the magnificent Copper House at the University of Kentucky for winning the AIA Kentucky Merit Award for Additions, Renovations and Restorations less than $5M! The Cooper House is a beautifully detailed 1880’s building carefully #restored to serve as a welcoming visitor center. The building received ‘just the right amount’ of renovation and reinterpretation. A restored historic stair is featured along with broad jambs and base boards. The notable expansion of a modern meeting and event space on the north side sets the stage for the other buildings in the composition. Today, during construction, our contractors uncovered a time capsule believed to have been set in 1939 in the cornerstone of Paris Elementary School. We look forward to opening this time capsule in the very near future to see what was left behind for us to find.
