Last night our San Diego office hosted the ACC San Diego - Association of Corporate Counsel's Annual Meeting for a night of Mixology and Magic. San Diego Office Managing Member Scott Stanton welcomed attendees with a mixology tutorial led by SnakeOil Cocktails. The evening ended with a magic show from Member Andrew Skale. It was a night full of fun and we look forward to the next one!

Intellectual Property Division Chair Mike Renaud was quoted by IAM in an article about the ITC case between Ericsson and Lenovo and its potential implications for FRAND negotiations. While most ITC cases involving Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) have resulted in no violation findings, this case could change that. Mike said, “This case is a chance for Ericsson to show that the ITC is open for business for all types of patents, SEP or otherwise. If the administrative law judge goes the way the ITC staff recommends, there could be more cases involving SEPs being adjudicated at the ITC.” Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/4eGaled

Specifically, Cheryl discusses the need for startups to be aware of the pressures and implications that may come from larger funding rounds.
