We want to know if you are safe and connect you to the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund if you need assistance due to damage from the storm. Additionally, if you are able to safely make it to the hospital, clinic or other department of Mission Health, please follow the phone prompts to make us aware. Having additional team members onsite to relieve colleagues who have been working to serve patients during this challenging time, will be of tremendous help. Thank you!

As Hurricane #Helene continues to move through North Carolina, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, flash flooding and widespread power outages, Mission Health colleagues stand ready to serve our community. The effort being put forth by our hospital teams is nothing short of extraordinary and we are enormously proud of what our colleagues have done, and continue to do, for our patients. Leading up to the storm, HCA Healthcare activated its Nashville-based Enterprise Emergency Operations Center (EEOC), comprised of nearly 200 multi-disciplinary leaders, including risk management, clinical experts, supply chain, patient logistics, air and ground transport and community liaison representatives. The EEOC is working alongside Mission Health to distribute key resources to our hospitals so that our caregivers can provide safe, uninterrupted patient care. Today we celebrate National Research Administrator Day. 💊🔬📊 Clinical research is core to Mission Health's commitment to the care and improvement of human life. In collaboration with the HCA Healthcare Research Institute, our research program brings our WNC community access to trials of innovative therapies and scientific breakthroughs in medical care. There are currently over 100 active research studies at Mission Hospital across the cardiac, vascular, neuroscience and oncology therapeutic areas. Research in our cardiovascular program includes exciting pharmaceutical and device trials in the structural heart, advanced heart failure, electrophysiology and clinical cardiology subspecialties. Last week, Mission Health's first group of Accelerate MA (Medical Assistants) participants began orientation and classes to become certified medical assistants in just a 12 week period. These 9 individuals will gain experience in both in-class study and hands-on experience at a number of our practices. This group has already shown incredible dedication and passion for quality patient-care. A little rain could not stop our Mission teams from participating in All Souls Counseling Center's second annual Mental Health Matters: Walk/Run for Awareness at UNC Asheville! 🚶🏃 We were honored to be one of the Presenting Sponsors for this event and were touched by the amount of support shown throughout the day by our fellow mental health organizations, UNCA student-athletes, and families. Earlier this month, 15 of our Mission Health colleagues went Over The Edge of the Renaissance Asheville Downtown Hotel, rappelling down all 12 stories. Brave colleagues, physicians, and CEOs from across our facilities participated in the event benefitting Special Olympics North Carolina. After the event, we were proud to present a $20,000 sponsorship check to the Special Olympics on behalf of Mission Health and HCA Healthcare. Inspired by their patients, the resilience of the human brain, our caregivers and stroke community, this team has grown stroke care at Mission over two decades to serve the 18 counties of WNC and provide tele-stroke services at 13 other hospitals across the region - not just within Mission Health!
