- NACHC is proud to support the bipartisan Urban Indian Health Parity Act to advance health equity in Medicaid reimbursement. Tribal and urban Indian communities face severe health disparities and this bipartisan legislation recognizes that the federal government has both a moral and a treaty obligation for Native people's health care. As the nation's largest primary care network, serving 32.5 million people nationwide, including more than 440,000 American Indian and Alaska Native patients, Community Health Centers are committed to ending these disparities and bringing health equity to Native communities.#HealthEquity #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth Seattle Indian Health Board
We are grateful to Congressman Raul Ruiz for reintroducing the Urban Indian Health Parity Act, which will permanently extend the 100% Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) to urban Indian organizations (UIOs). This legislation is committed to building upon the success of the two-year pilot of 100% FMAP for UIOs, which has resulted in economic boosts for states. We deeply appreciate the support of our Tribal partners! This month, the National Congress of American Indians passed a resolution to support the permanent authorization of 100% FMAP funds for Urban Indian Organizations. Our growing urban Indian population deserves the highest quality of culturally attuned healthcare that can be achieved through this bill. -
