- Known to affect the gut microbiome and ward off chronic diseases, anti-inflammatory diets are more popular than ever. Chronic inflammation in the gut can wreak havoc on the entire body—even the brain, where mental health conditions can be triggered. But we can influence inflammation by what we eat—and don't eat. Research has shown that including specific foods in our daily eating habits can help control inflammation while reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and other illnesses. - Hair loss isn’t life-threatening, but that doesn't mean that it can’t be life-changing. For many people, losing hair is tantamount to losing themselves. Though hair loss is often discussed in relation to men, around 40 percent of people experiencing it in the United States are women. Most people experience hair loss because of androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness), which at least in men, is highly genetic. But for women, it’s still unclear whether or how androgens are involved in female pattern baldness. And the areas in which women and men tend to bald differ, as does the age in which it occurs. Learn more about these gender disparities, the causes of hair loss, and what treatments can do to reverse the signs at https://lnkd.in/e4EKhNjm.
