Serverless Postgres in the Cloud.
About us
Neon is building open-source cloud-native PostgreSQL. Our architecture separates storage from computing, allowing for stateless and Serverless Postgres. We’re a well-funded startup with deep knowledge of Postgres internals and decades of experience building databases. Our storage layer is written in rust and cloud control plane is written in Go.

Neon, the serverless Postgres database built for developers, launched Neon Authorize. It enables developers to manage permissions and access controls with ease. This new offering leverages Postgres RLS (Row-Level Security) – a Postgres primitive that protects data from malicious actors even when accessed through third-party tooling – and makes it much simpler to use via new deployment models for application developers. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dT4K9SbJ #serverless #cybersecuritynews #securitynews - Today we're launching 𝐍𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞, a tool that makes row-level security easier and more intuitive for developers: https://lnkd.in/gneuF5WCNeon Authorize allows you to: ✔️ Define and manage RLS directly in your codebase ✔️ Keep your auth provider - It works with Clerk.com, Auth0 by Okta, and many others - In fact, it works with any authentication provider that can generate JWTs ✔️ Use a declarative approach to set up RLS alongside schema definitions via DrizzleOpen source and already available in Neon
- 48hrs til Neon Deploy - our online event where we: - Launch new features for shipping faster - Give away ridiculously nice keyboards to celebrate - Demo what's new in Postgres and Neon Autoscaling Register here: https://neon.tech/deploy
Neon Deploy — Neon neon.tech - Product update: 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧. Details here: https://lnkd.in/gbXY6Qv5Why are we doing this: - We want to give Free Plan users more flexibility in how they use their compute hours -Our Free Plan includes 190 CU-hours, enough to run the smallest compute 24/7 if that’s what you prefer - But if you don’t need your database running all the time, you can invest your compute hours in more projects (you now get ten), higher capacity (via autoscaling) or in read replicas About Neon's read replicas: - Our approach to read replicas is different vs other providers - Since Neon allows multiple compute endpoints to be attached to the same storage unit, our read replicas don’t need to copy or duplicate data - This makes them very lightweight and cost-efficient (they also scale to zero) A use case to get started: - Use them to grant read access to your data without compromising resources for your primary database
- 10/10 Update: We 10x’ed the number of projects available on the Free Plan! Get all the details here: https://lnkd.in/gBX-4PGs

Last night, we brought together 20 technical co-founders and leaders in the Agentic AI and Dev space for an industry dinner. There were so many great discussions–I walked away with a few key takeaways: - Agents need new infrastructure: models, evals, browsing, permissioning, agentic purpose built APIs - SWE agents need ACI (agent computer interface) - Everything stateful should have branches: browsers, databases, eval runtimes and an API service across libraries. - Every stateful component needs copy on write branching - noted by Cursor team, Replit built a custom storage system and Neon delivers branching for the database. The energy and interest were off the charts—we’ll need a bigger venue and more time for the next one! Big thanks to the leaders from Anthropic, Vercel, Wordware (YC S24), Harvey, Cleric, 11x and everyone else who joined. Special shoutout to our co-hosts, Glenn Solomon from Notable Capital and Amjad Masad from Replit. If you're building in the space and want to join the next dinner, reach out. More to come!
