About us

Nitsch Engineering provides civil, transportation, and structural engineering; land surveying; resilience and green infrastructure; planning; and GIS services. Since 1989, we have worked on major private development and public infrastructure projects in 21 states and five countries. We have earned the respect and confidence of our clients, as demonstrated by the fact that 97% of our work comes from repeat clients. From our three offices in Massachusetts (Boston, Lawrence, and Worcester), and one in Washington, DC, we are committed to meeting the goal defined in our tagline: building better communities with you! We are thrilled to share that, as of January 1st, Jennifer Johnson, PE, CFM, LEED AP has been named President & CEO of Nitsch Engineering! Jenn will build upon the strategic leadership and long-term vision she has consistently shown as a member of Nitsch’s Executive Team to position the company for the future. Jenn will succeed Lisa Brothers, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C, who has been President & CEO since 2011. Lisa will remain at Nitsch through 2025 as Chair of the Board. Applications for Nitsch Engineering's Judith Nitsch Scholarship are now being accepted and are due January 22, 2025! In partnership with the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) Education Corporation, the Judith Nitsch Scholarship is awarded each year to students pursuing an engineering or land surveying degree who are traditionally underrepresented in the field, including women and Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC).
