- Speaking with NPR's Rachel Martin, Erykah Badu says her best music is still to come. And her resume includes so much more. She's an actor, a doula, and helps guide people at the end of their lives. She and Martin spoke about intentionally setting unreachable goals, letting go of certain thoughts, and space shuttles. - On Wild Card with Rachel Martin, author Ann Patchett shares her conflicted feelings about her religion, country and home state. Patchett's 2001 novel “Bel Canto” was a huge hit. She's continued to have success with her later work, including “The Dutch House,” which was a Pulitzer Prize finalist. But she's returned to “Bel Canto” with a new edition annotated by Patchett herself. She talks to Rachel Martin about revisiting her own work, being comfortable being wrong, and enjoying solitude. A lot is happening outside of our control — so if you're feeling extra zapped of energy, this is your reminder to step away from the screen and get some fresh air. In this edition of #BodyElectric, I took a walking break with Uché Blackstock, MD, named one of Time’s 100 in Health, and we talked about the social factors that shape our health—like safe streets and access to green spaces. Real talk: Even when we want to prioritize our well-being, barriers like unsafe neighborhoods or screen-heavy jobs get in the way. So if you’re here, carving out time for yourself, that’s a win. Check out this week's edition of the NPR newsletter and get inspired to stop scrolling, and get moving. 👇
