- Drawing on letters, manuscripts, books, paintings, prints, and even wine bills, "Byron: A Life in Motion" tells the life story of the great English Romantic poet by way of his travels and loves. On view at The New York Public Library. Plan your visit: https://lnkd.in/ekBHMQ2x
- The Subway is an extraordinary space of contradictions: millions of people, each navigating through their private lives in a very public space. On October 27, 1904, the first underground subway train traveled 9.1 miles through 28 stations, with more than 100,000 people paying 5 cents for a ride. This year, the NYC Subway turned 120 years old and we're celebrating this special occasion with items from The New York Public Library's renowned collections.

- The dance world lost one of its brightest luminaries with the passing of Judith Jamison on November 9, 2024 at the age of 81. Celebrated equally for her groundbreaking career as a Black dancer and her two-decade long stewardship of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, she was a global star who helped shape modern dance. Jamison was named a Library Lion in 2015 in recognition of her significant contributions to New York City and to the creative community at large.
