- Ogilvy DC's Brooke Urbach recently spoke on the George Washington University School of Business’s Career Week Marketing Industry Panel alongside fellow GW alumni and panelists from VML, Hilton, and SimplePractice. Topics included trends in the marketing industry, advice on landing your first marketing job, differences between working at an agency or in-house, times where the work didn’t go as planned and how they pivoted, and the importance of balancing data and creativity in your work. Brooke emphasized the importance of focusing on your own journey and trying not to compare yourself to others. 👏🏻👏🏽👏🏾
- In celebration of the start of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, we wanted to shine a light onto one of our employee resource groups: La Comunidad! Co-led by Valerie Vardaro, Mónica Parada, and Micaela Vilanova, La Comunidad celebrates Latino culture, traditions, and achievements through vibrant events and initiatives. The community fosters a sense of belonging, provides mentorship opportunities, and advocates for diversity and inclusion. La Comunidad collaborates with Latino organizations, supports community outreach programs, and contributes to Ogilvy's commitment to creating an equitable workplace that values the rich tapestry of Latino heritage. This year's theme, "Different, Together," highlights the rich tapestry of cultural, racial, and linguistic nuances within the community. #Ogilvy #OgilvyDC #HispanicHeritageMonth #LatinxHeritageMonth

Resilience is not passive. As the US #Election heats up, Rachel Caggiano, Head of Ogilvy DC outlines how #Brands can navigate potential risks & reputational landmines while connecting with audiences in authentic, thoughtful, & impactful ways. - And just like that, it’s August. With summer drawing to a close, we also begrudgingly bid farewell to our interns. Jailen, Noah, and Daniel (pictured left to right) joined Ogilvy DC in June and were welcomed additions to the office. Coming from various backgrounds, states, and schools, they offered valuable perspectives and contributions to their teams and work. In addition to their account work, the interns across the Ogilvy North America network worked in groups to create social-first campaigns to drive awareness of a brand of breakfast sandwiches, culminating in a final group presentation. Congratulations on the great work! Thank you to Jailen, Noah, and Daniel for brightening our summer and we look forward to seeing the great things you do in the future!
- Join us in celebrating the launch of Pride@OgilvyDC, our newest employee resource group! Co-led by Brandon G. Thompson and Kendrick Vela, Pride@OgilvyDC seeks to foster connection amongst our LGBTQIA2S+ community and allies by providing a safe space for authentic connection, offering resources and opportunities to broaden our knowledge of the community and how to support one another, and celebrating the widespread diversity of identities, cultures, and experiences that makes up the Queer community. 🏳️🌈 #ogilvy #ogilvydc #pride #pridemonth

Yesterday, Ogilvy DC had the honor of partnering with Robert Allbritton and the Allbritton Journalism Institute to host a conversation on the ever so-important topic of representation in the newsroom, moderated by the wonderful and inspiring Wesley Lowery. For anyone in Washington this week, you know it’s a busy time ahead of the White House Correspondents Dinner this weekend – so to be able to take a moment out to have this dialogue with other leaders and communicators was really meaningful. Wes led a terrific talk on how businesses and the media alike can find different paths to getting younger, diverse journalists trained up and into the field – or adjacent fields – despite ongoing newsroom cutbacks. At Ogilvy DC, much of our work focuses on building cultural movements that drive real structural change – moving hearts and minds, rather than products. And one of the reasons I was so excited to partner with AJI was because of the intersection of this issue with the work we do. To build the types of movements we create, we need both more representative centers of power in corporate America and more representative news media. And that starts with fostering new, diverse voices through programs like AJI’s Reporting Fellowship. Thank you again to Wes, Robert and Imperfecto for having us – let's continue the conversation.
