- OneLegacy had the pleasure of welcoming the organization Reach Out, which brought nearly 200 middle and high school students from schools across Riverside County. Reach Out aims to empower communities by enhancing their ability to foster healthy and safe environments through policy design, partnerships, and collaborations. All the students who attended expressed an interest in pursuing careers in various branches of healthcare. They had the chance to learn about organ, eye, and tissue donation from OneLegacy staff and our ambassadors. Additionally, the students enjoyed a guided tour of our Azusa Transplant and Recovery Center. Today, the students left with an increased sense of confidence and empowerment regarding their ability to advocate for organ donation and make the choice to register. Together, we can save lives.#OrganDonation #Fieldtrip #SaveLives #Education #OneLegacy
- We are proud to announce significant progress in organ donation and lives saved for 2024! Thanks to 740 organ donors and 1,941 lifesaving transplants, we have achieved a 5.5% increase in lives saved compared to the previous year. Over the past decade, OneLegacy has recorded a remarkable 77% increase in organ donors and a 51% increase in transplants. This accomplishment is made possible by the generosity of donors and their families who gave the gift of life, as well as the dedicated teams who work tirelessly to save lives each day. Thank you for your unwavering support! 🙏💙#OrganDonation #LifeSavers #Gratitude #LifeSavingTransplants #OneLegacy
- To our Southern California community, we are deeply saddened by the widespread impact of the fires affecting our region. Our hearts go out to those who have lost homes, businesses, and loved ones, as well as to the brave first responders working tirelessly to protect and save lives. In times like these, it’s crucial that we come together to support one another. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, donating supplies, or simply checking in on neighbors, every act of kindness makes a difference. OneLegacy stands in solidarity with all those impacted. Together, we are stronger, and together, we will rebuild and recover. Please stay safe, stay strong, and know that you are not alone in this.

APPRECIATION POST: OneLegacy, thank you for empowering me, once again, at the 2025 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float and the events leading up to it. My role in this monumental event as a writer, event, and video producer, and media stakeholder was incredibly specific. I wrote correspondence, created opportunities for media, prepared the honorees, captured and created content with videographers, worked with reporters, and wrote and produced the ceremony for the Honoree dinner. This was my third rewarding year with the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float. I genuinely appreciate the balance of autonomy and guidance provided by our leadership. This support allowed me to dedicate myself to this month-long event while maintaining my well-being. I am proud to be a part of such a passionate and committed team at ONELEGACY FOUNDATION, contributing to a cause that resonates deeply with me. - OneLegacy reposted this
The Evergen Donor Services team was honored to celebrate the new year by participating in the 2025 Rose Parade with donor families and recipients in Pasadena, California. The love and support shown to those who have given and received the Gift of Life is inspirational! We are proud that this year’s Donate Life float, “Let your Life Soar,” was awarded the Extraordinaire Award, which honors the most extraordinary float. The float design was inspired by the Japanese celebration of Children's Day, in which colorful koi windsocks are flown to represent a family. The symbolism of the koi fish, which represents strength, courage, and health, was especially meaningful as we honor donors and the impact of organ, eye, and tissue donation. Thank you to OneLegacy, sponsors, supporters of the Gift of Life, and all those who participated in this year’s parade for making it such a memorable and meaningful event! More than 2.5 million tissue transplants are performed annually in the United States, offering patients a new chance at healthy, productive lives. Learn more about OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade® here: https://ow.ly/Hw9t50Uyo0x #DonateLife #RoseParade2025 #BridgeToLife #OrganDonation #NewYearsDay - We are excited to have hosted the final OneLegacy Symposium of 2024, titled “Foundations of Donation: Back to the Basics for a Better Tomorrow”, on October 23 at the Azusa Transplant Recovery Center. With over 200 attendees from 75 hospitals represented, the event provided an exceptional platform for healthcare professionals to connect, exchange insights, and reaffirm our shared commitment to saving lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation. 💙💚 Special Thanks to Our Hospital Partners Your unwavering dedication to our mission is the foundation of our success. Together, we are making a profound impact on donor families and patients awaiting transplants. Today, we were reminded of the critical role each partner plays in closing the gap for the 21,000 individuals in California and 9,000 patients in the OneLegacy Donation Service Area awaiting their lifesaving gift. From timely referrals to compassionate family conversations, understanding the fundamentals of donation ensures that every opportunity to save lives is maximized. Key Takeaways: Referral Process: Alonzo Urita and Trevor Woolsey, MHA emphasized that prompt and accurate referrals are the first crucial step in saving lives, ensuring no potential opportunity is missed. Compassionate Family Conversations: Nathan Pelz shared best practices for approaching families with empathy and respect during their time of grief, influencing their willingness to consider donation. Donor Management: Michael Muñoz Romero discussed strategies for maximizing organ viability, ensuring that more lives are saved with each precious gift. Organ Allocation and Recipient Qualifications: Wendy Escobedo, DNP, RN, PHN, CCTN explored the complexities behind organ allocation, ensuring each gift reaches the patients most in need. In the fast-paced world of healthcare, revisiting these foundational principles is essential for ensuring that every aspect of the donation process is carried out with excellence. Our hospital partners are key to this mission, and by embracing these basics, we strengthen the future of donation and transplantation. Looking Ahead Together, we’ve laid the groundwork for continued success in donation and transplantation, and we’re excited to apply what we’ve learned to save more lives and bring hope to more families. If you missed the opportunity to join our 2024 Symposium series, don’t worry—an exciting 2025 lineup is in the works! I am thrilled to officially announce the launch of the OneLegacy billboard campaign. Our aim is to inspire people to save lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation, whether that means registering as a donor or becoming part of the OneLegacy team. We are grateful to partner with Clear Channel Outdoor for helping us amplify this lifesaving mission. Bulletins and posters will be displayed throughout Southern California for the remainder of 2024 and into 2025. As you go about your daily activities, keep an eye out—you may just spot a familiar face! - We were delighted to participate in and present at the 2024 Kidney/Pancreas Transplant & Nephrology Symposium organized by the UCI School of Medicine. Our presentation focused on organ donation and how our lifesaving mission is making a difference in the counties we serve. It’s always a pleasure to encounter Dr. Robert R. Redfield II and Dr. Uttam G. Reddy. In addition, being able to connect with our colleagues in the donation and transplant field is always a pleasure. We are grateful to the UCI School of Medicine for hosting such a meaningful event and look forward to future opportunities to connect, learn, and grow.
