About us

Partners In Health (PIH) is a non-profit, global health organization that fights social injustice by bringing the benefits of modern medical science first and foremost to the most vulnerable communities around the world. PIH focuses on those who would not otherwise have access to quality health care. PIH partners with the world’s leading academic institutions to create rigorous evidence that shapes more sound and all-inclusive global health policies. PIH also supports local governments’ efforts to build capacity and strengthen national health systems. As of today, PIH runs programs in 11 countries (Haiti, Peru, Rwanda, Mexico, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Malawi, Lesotho, Russia, Kazakhstan, Navajo Nation), where it provides direct care to millions of patients, through public facilities and community engagement.

PIH believes health is a human right. We condemn the killing of civilians, targeting of hospitals, and blockading of humanitarian aid as examples of gross disregard for human life. We stand behind the principles of medical neutrality. In Gaza, attacks are destroying hospitals, thereby erasing medical infrastructure, injuring and killing health workers, and eliminating virtually all access to health care. Additionally, humanitarian aid that is desperately needed by the nearly two million people who havebeen displaced is being blocked, resulting in extreme suffering. PIH supports global efforts to end the violence and suffering. We call for the unimpeded access of aid and sincere, global efforts to foster long-term peace and stability—including health infrastructure—in Gaza and the region. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eqxCRBVS

Update on Haiti 🛑 Insecurity in Haiti has unfortunately escalated. As the Transitional Presidential Council moves to appoint a new Prime Minister, security remains unstable despite international support. Violence has surged, affecting areas where Partners In Health’s sister organization in Haiti, Zanmi Lasante (ZL), operates. While all ZL facilities are open, critical operations face challenges. Our warehouse is in a high-risk area, which could impact supply chains and delay key projects. We’ll continue to provide updates as new information comes in.
