It was a productive day today, completing another successful FAT with the great team from BG Products, Inc., who partnered with Integrated Packaging Machinery to purchase a new line for their Eldorado, Kansas automotive products facility. We ran our fully integrated 12-pocket token inserter, Pneumatic Scale 22-valve mass flow filler (with tangential discharge), and Angelus 60L seamer through its paces, giving the team their first look at their new machine in action. Rated for Class I, Div I explosion proof production, this machine is set to run at 300 cans per minute (CPM). The smiles on the faces of everyone at the end of the day say it all - we're excited to send the machine off to its new home in Kansas and BG is excited to welcome it to the family! The Pneumatic Scale 1260/1080/540 net weigh filler triblock consists of an ionized air rinser turret, paired with a net weigh filler and and servo-controlled capper. This machine is capable of speeds up to 500 containers per minute (CPM), depending on the filler size and application, and is ideal for dressings, condiments, and sauces with particulates. With more than 50 years of seaming experience, if you give Mark the serial number of a Continental/Closetech seamer that was installed decades ago, he will likely tell you a story about the customer who bought it and what the weather was like the day they took delivery. Mark is the embodiment of Do What You Love, Love What You Do, and with his deep expertise in double seam evaluation, seamer assembly and maintenance, and the optimization of seamer performance, he will be the first to tell you that understanding how your seamer is built and how it operates provides invaluable insight into achieving a properly formed double seam.
