What is a Career Prayer™? The Career Prayer™ is a unique method to help Respiris clients express gratitude, share their story, and invite support from their network. This guide draws from practices of mindfulness and intentional goal-setting, echoing the structure of a "prayer for relief" as seen in the U.S. District Court, where an individual respectfully seeks specific outcomes. Like setting intentions in a yoga class or making New Year’s resolutions, this 10-step framework helps our clients thoughtfully articulate what they wish to invite into their career and professional network. Similarly, in the Career Prayer™, clients can intentionally reach out to their network and activating them to invite guidance, connection, and support as they transition to new chapter By expressing authentic desires and openness, our coached clients can engage their network in a meaningful, purposeful way, setting the stage for new beginnings. Step 1: Provide a warm, natural greeting to set a friendly tone. Example: “Hello LinkedIn Community, I hope this message finds you well.” Step 2: Reflect on what they appreciated in previous roles or colleagues. Step 3: Briefly Frame Work History Step 4: Share a Personal or Professional Learning Step 5: State Your Purpose or Next Steps Step 6: Ask for Help Step 7: Balance Confidence with Humility Maintain a tone that is optimistic yet humble. My daughter drafted a Narrative of Hope and Belief in Democracy when she ran for office. In times when the world feels uncertain, it’s easy to lose sight of the principles that anchor us. But the simple, hopeful words of a young person running for a school position remind us of the strength in community, kindness, and democracy. This letter, written by my daughter, encapsulates a belief that through unity, empathy, and perseverance, a place as small as a school can transform, setting a foundation for a better society. Just as Iris sees the potential for change and improvement in her school, we too can find reassurance in our collective ability to influence, create, and shape the future. Democracy is not a perfect system, but it is resilient. It allows for voices big and small, experienced and fresh, to come together in pursuit of a better, kinder world. Reading these words — the promise of inclusion, kindness, and mutual respect — we remember that the heart of democracy is not merely in laws or policies but in people: people who choose compassion over division, who value each other’s strengths, and who recognize the power of collective effort. Democracy, like Iris’s vision for her school, thrives when everyone feels included and empowered. The message here is simple: no matter the challenges, as long as we work together, lift each other up, and root ourselves in the shared values of empathy and hope, we will be okay. It’s been a nonstop journey, traveling 3 of the last 4 weeks, from budget hotels to high-energy meetups, all in the name of innovating in the last mile of the employee lifecycle. Figuring out this week how to embrace the grind and building a legacy is the post-tech month hustle. I think I am done traveling for the remainder of the year. LA TECH WEEK by a16z brought invaluable conversations and insights alongside San Francisco’s Sequoia and Lattice's Lattiverse Conferences, where I had the chance to collaborate, pitch, learn, and live the real grind of founder-led sales. Unpacking these connections and refining our path forward is the next step. Respiris is on a mission to redefine how employees experience transitions, and I’m more motivated than ever to see that through. Thank you to everyone who’s shown interest in joining Respiris as a Job Search Coach. Seeing so many talented career coaches and recruiters reach out has been incredible. But the work we do is unique—it’s not traditional career coaching or outplacement. At Respiris, we approach transitions with something deeper and more intentional, something I call the Career Prayer™. This journey is personal for me. My life’s work has been helping people find direction, but it didn’t come easy. As a first-generation college graduate with roots in hard work, I learned early on about resilience, empathy, and purpose. Over my career, I’ve felt the isolation that can come with tough transitions—losing a job, navigating family law litigation alone, or working 60-hour weeks for a startup only to have to lay myself off and 1/2 my team. These experiences shaped me and inspired me to build Respiris as a true support system—one I wish I’d had in those moments. Respiris is here to redefine the last mile of an employee’s journey with their company. This isn’t just about updating a resume or LinkedIn profile; it’s about helping people connect with their deeper purpose and the path that genuinely fulfills them. And yes, it’s different. It requires a game theory mindset — an ability to think strategically, empathetically, and collaboratively—to support someone in seeing the big picture, making real changes, establishing your brand, and finding fulfillment. Our side hustle job search coaches, experienced in marketing, product, finance, or other areas bring real-world insights and a deep commitment to supporting others. They know folks may want something like, “I’m a Product Marketing Manager, so I’ll aim for Senior Product Manager.” But sometimes, it’s not that simple. Sometimes, it means saying, “My life in Ohio isn’t the life I want, it’s not why I went to college and I need to have a family board meeting to figure out what’s next with myself, partner, etc.” And here’s where innovation comes in: learning to use an AI Companion Coach is a crucial step in supporting our candidates (for new employment or building a company) on this journey.
