Welcome Beth Holbrook, New Mpact Board Member We’re excited to share that Beth Holbrook, a Trustee of the Utah Transit Authority and Chair of ULI Utah, is joining the Mpact Board of Directors. Holbrook also is a member of American Public Transportation Association’s Executive Board, where she chairs the Transit Board Member’s Legislative Committee. “The Mpact Board of Directors is very pleased to welcome Beth Holbrook as our newest Board member,” said Diana Mendes, Mpact Board President. “Beth brings a wealth of experience, as a transit agency trustee and in local, state, and national industry leadership roles. She significantly enhances our leadership in advancing transit-oriented development and maximizing public investments for community benefit.” Holbrook believes transit benefits most from being a valued economic development partner with all communities. She looks for ways to maximize Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) and involve communities in station area planning. A former President of the Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULCT), Holbrook has worked in the public and private sectors, including establishing a real estate firm and serving on the Bountiful City Council. Giddyup! Bus and Paratransit operators from across UTA's service area recently competed in our annual Bus Roadeo. The Roadeo invites operators to test their skills across 11 different events ranging from a simple left or right turn to more complex maneuvers like driving in reverse. The operator with the most points across all 11 events wins and can go on to compete nationally at the American Public Transportation Association International Bus Roadeo. Most importantly, the Roadeo gives members of the UTA family the opportunity to train and engage with others throughout the company.#WeMoveYou
UTA is working with Utah-based Stadler to procure up to 80 new light rail cars. These new cars will offer a low-floor, all accessible boarding and are part of a multi-year TRAX Modernization project, which will enhance and expand service over the next decade. Stadler was selected by UTA through a competitive procurement process, and all vehicles will be built at Stadler's U.S. headquarters and manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City. #WeMoveYou
