About us

Founded as the Riggs-Linthicum Company in 1909, our original charge mission was to represent manufacturers in the sale of materials for “buildings, railroads, and other purposes.” Over the years, Riggs Distler helped construct some of the most notable buildings in the United States, including the Empire State Building, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Federal Reserve Building, the Library of Congress, the Internal Revenue Service headquarters, The Breakers Hotel, the National Constitution Center, and hundreds of power plants, government facilities, refineries, and industrial facilities throughout the eastern United States. In 2021, we joined Centuri Group, Inc., a comprehensive utility infrastructure enterprise serving gas and electric providers across North America. Our 100 years of experience stand behind Centuri’s 100-year plan and vision for long-term sustainability. Riggs Distler & Company, Inc. (A Centuri Company), remains a Maryland-incorporated company with headquarters in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and numerous branch offices up and down the Eastern United States. We’re proud of our tradition of success over more than 110 consecutive years of service, and we aim to build our future by focusing on the values that got us here: reliability, safety, and a commitment to hiring and supporting the industry’s best staff. When disaster strikes, we get to work. Riggs Distler provides on-call emergency power and utility restoration for companies up and down the East Coast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Preparing early and deploying fast, we’re on your side after storm events and other emergency system disruptions. We’ve responded to hurricanes and major storms from Maine to Puerto Rico, deploying thousands of workers and hundreds of fully loaded trucks to navigate the aftermath and help get utility networks back online.
Engineering News-Record New York just named Ørsted's South Fork Wind the Project of the Year and Best Project in Energy/Industrial! The130-MW offshore wind farm, New York’s first utility-scale project of its kind, is a significant achievement in advancing clean energy for the region. Riggs Distler is proud to have played a key role, constructing the advanced foundation components including supported internal platforms, external working platforms, monopile doors, and anode cages fabricated by 125 union craft personnel across multiple crafts. Together with our partners, we have contributed to a project that generates renewable power for approximately 70,000 homes. I am proud to announce that South Fork Wind was recently named Project of the Year and Best Project in Energy/Industrial by Engineering News-Record New York. This 130-MW offshore wind farm, located off Long Island, marks New York and the United States’ first utility-scale offshore wind farm in federal waters. During peak onshore construction, Riggs Distler had 125 union craft personnel and 20 support staff working on the assembly, inspection, and delivery of the advanced foundation components for the 12 offshore wind turbines for South Fork Wind. This was the first construction of its kind by an American company and the first construction of its kind to be constructed in the United States. The project was delivered safely, with exceptional quality, and on schedule. This same Riggs Distler team continued to work on the 65 positions for Revolution Wind. Our work on South Fork also earned Riggs Distler the Oceantic Network Ventus HSE Program of the Year in 2023 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Project Excellence Award for Energy Solutions/Green Buildings in 2024, highlighting our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and industry leadership. This project will forever be viewed as a key milestone for the U.S. renewable energy future. On Wednesday, October 16th, Craig Belfatto Jr. and Joe Amendola represented Riggs Distler at the Zero Injury Safety Awards® (ZISA) Ceremony in Washington, DC. Riggs Distler’s Heavy Industrial Group received four ZISA Awards for achieving over 800,000 injury-free man-hours in 2023. This marks the fifth consecutive year of recognition. Today we released of our annual Sustainability Report detailing the tangible, positive impacts we are making in our communities, in the workplace, on behalf of our customers and the 100+million people they serve, and in service to our shareholders as we pursue long-term, sustainable growth. This year marks a significant milestone as it is our first report as a public company, following our listing on the New York Stock Exchange in April of this year. Our approach to sustainability is guided by our purpose: connecting people to power. It’s about how we continuously innovate, improve, and transform as the energy landscape continues to see ever-increasing demand and ongoing change. It is also about how we provide the infrastructure essential to powering everyday modern life, ultimately fueling both opportunity and economic development. Since 2019, Riggs Distler has been at the forefront of the offshore wind revolution in the U.S., and we’re thrilled to share some major milestones in our journey. Starting with key partnerships, we quickly expanded our presence in the industry, securing a Tier 1 Supplier contract with Ørsted for Sunrise Wind in 2021. By 2022, we added two more Tier 1 contracts for South Fork and Revolution Wind. In 2023, we proudly delivered U.S.-built advanced foundation components for the now operational South Fork Wind farm—the first complete utility-scale offshore wind farm in federal waters! This landmark project earned us both the Ventus HSE Program of the Year and NECA Project Excellence Award in 2024.
