Earlier this month, over 90 Roads to Success students had an unforgettable experience at Citi’s headquarters, exploring finance and career paths firsthand. As the Somos 2024 Puerto Rico Conference concludes, the Roads to Success team reflects on the impact of collective dialogue and the potential we can create together across sectors. During #Somos2024, our CEO, Sheila Duke, contributed to the Building a Resilient Future Together: Empowering Youth Through Education and Support Services panel. She shared insights along with the panel on how leaders across education, community service, and youth support can foster sustainable futures by tackling issues such as food insecurity, expanding educational access, and preparing youth for the workforce. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who cheered on our Roads to Success runners at this year’s TCS NYC Marathon! 🎉 Each of our incredible 11 runners trained, ran, and fundraised with one goal in mind—to empower NYC’s youth with brighter futures. Through your generous support, we surpassed our fundraising goal, with over $45,000 raised to fund scholarships, afterschool programs, and career and college readiness initiatives for young New Yorkers. Today, we witnessed something truly inspiring at the #TCSNYCMarathon2024 – a moment that embodies the heart and spirit of Roads to Success. In those last 800 meters, our RTS Charity Runner Juan Felipe Zuleta noticed fellow RTS runner Christopher Walker facing a tough moment as he pushed toward the finish line. Rather than race ahead, Juan chose to stand beside Christopher, supporting him alongside another selfless runner who joined in. Together, they crossed the finish line as a united force, demonstrating that true strength lies in lifting each other up. Juan, Christopher, and their anonymous helper remind us of the very values we strive to instill in our youth – compassion, kindness, determination, and an unbreakable sense of community. They aren’t just runners; they’re the role models our young people need, showing us all what it means to be leaders in both heart and action.
