Today we are excited to announce our investment in Convergence 🎉 Convergence has just emerged from stealth with a new class of models called Large Meta Learning Models (LMLM). These models are trained to keep acquiring skills during inference time, like a human would through long-term memory and continual learning 🤓 The modern business world is consumed by repetitive, mundane tasks, but these tasks are often unique to the individual’s particular role, relationships, and style of working. Convergence is utilizing their LMLM technology to create personalized AI assistants called “Proxies” which are capable of interacting with existing company systems, collaborating with each other, and collaborating with other humans. Announcing our investment in Ensemble AI 🎆 Co-founders Alex Reneau and Zach A. are helping enterprises get more with less data so they can achieve accurate, impactful, and predictive model outputs. Ensemble's net-new representation learning algorithm learns to approximate hidden relationships in data by outputting embeddings, effectively distilling signal from noise to allow ML models to achieve state-of-the-art performance — even with limited, sparse, and high dimensional datasets. AI's Exponential Growth 📈 "2 years ago we heard there's gold. Now we've just started prospecting." – David Kirk (NVIDIA), Vipul Ved Prakash & Ce Zhang (Together AI), Richard Socher (You.com), and Jeff Boudier (Hugging Face) explored AI's rapid evolution and its impact on enterprises in their respective panels. Cutting-Edge AI Applications 🗡 Julia Stiglitz (Uplimit), Rachit Kataria 👨🏽🌾 & William Wang 👨🌾 (Centralize (YC W24)), and Sunil Rao (Tribble) shared how startups are adopting AI. Key takeaway: Data centralization is crucial for AI success. The Future of Enterprise AI 🔮 Daniela Amodei (Anthropic) and Parker Harris (Salesforce) discussed how AI is reshaping customer service and workflow automation. "The best entrepreneurs are storytellers, and the best businesses tell stories that matter." – Edward Norton (yes, THAT Edward Norton 😉) Just left an inspiring #Dreamforce session on social entrepreneurship with Edward Norton and Robert W., co-founders of Zeck, moderated by Salesforce Ventures's own Claudine Emeott 🙌 Some of my fav takeaways... 👉 Creativity isn't just for artists. "I don't think you should bifurcate artistic work and entrepreneurial work. Creative work can take many different forms. Everyone involved in building businesses is fundamentally creative." 👉 We're in an era of "world good innovation." There's a rising form of moral, sustainable capitalism that rebuts pure financial maximization. "I'm buoyed by all the people I see working on important hard problems that will meet the challenges we're facing." 👉 Remember the "service" part of SaaS. SaaS, "When you root your feet in that idea of service and what you're doing for others it tends to make the hard work more enjoyable." 👉 The U.S. non-profit sector is unique globally. "People here are self organizing to solve problems vs. make as much money as possible." 👉 Board governance is ripe for disruption. Zeck aims to improve the quality of conversations and relationships in board meetings. "It's a niche experience but not a niche problem. We think it's something that's pretty omnipresent across corporate and non profit." Ed's challenge to entrepreneurs: How can we build businesses that are "legitimately great for people and the world"? It's an important question that deserves all of our concerted focus.
