In celebration of Computer Science Week, our team had the incredible opportunity to bring an “Hour of Code” to 7th and 8th graders at the Richard J. Murphy School in Dorchester, MA. The students were tasked with programming our Shark® PowerDetect™ Robot Vacuum to navigate into a target zone using a series of commands. There were some successful moves and a few learning moments along the way! It was inspiring to see the students' curiosity and enthusiasm for innovation. As Danielle shared, consumer-led innovation drives everything we do at SharkNinja. When I first stepped into the role of CEO, I was fortunate to receive great advice about what it takes to succeed. Meet Kimberley Williams, one of the team members behind our product sustainability program. As the European Returns Coordinator in our Operations division within the U.K., Kim works closely with retailers and our refurbishment partners to give damaged products a second life. She makes sure that the lifecycle of our products doesn’t stop when they leave the store, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of. Nearly two years ago, Kim joined SharkNinja as she re-entered the workforce as a new mom. Since then, she’s embraced the fast-paced, environment of our team and finding inspiration in a shared commitment to sustainability. Kim lives our Outrageously Extraordinary mindset, especially the idea of being an explorer, not a tour guide. She leads by example, showing us all that obstacles are just opportunities in disguise, ready to be tackled head-on. 2024 has been a phenomenal year for SharkNinja. We launched 25 problem-solving innovations and entered exciting new categories like skincare, frozen drinks, and outdoor coolers and fans. We expanded into new markets—including the Middle East, Mexico, and Brazil—while further strengthening our presence in core markets across the U.S. and Europe by continuing to gain market share and partnering with new retailers to reach even more consumers around the world. On the world stage, we made bold moves: dazzling audiences at Paris Fashion Week, commanding attention at IFA, and forging deeper connections with consumers through high-impact campaigns. From collaborations with global icons like David Beckham and Courteney Cox to championing women’s sports, we uncovered powerful new ways to engage and inspire with purpose. At SharkNinja, accessibility helps us deliver on our mission to positively impact lives in homes around the world – and we’re learning every day. Our Universal Design Employee Resource Group had the privilege of hosting Tamara Vandendool, an Accessibility Consultant at Odyssey Unlimited, for an engaging session on “Accessibility Across Products and Workplaces: Why It Matters.” Tamara shared how embedding accessibility into product design, workplaces, and everyday culture benefits everyone. She emphasized that starting small, with steps like improving contrast, using inclusive language, and incorporating accessibility early on in design, can make a meaningful impact. By designing with empathy, we can foster innovation that creates more inclusive experiences for all.#DEIatSharkNinja
