Today, Splight announced a substantial technological accomplishment! By using our unique technology, we have helped to reduce curtailment within an energy system in the Biobio region, south of Chile. Our software-based technology, which runs on top of 220KV transmission lines along the Charrua—Santa Clara—Mulchen system, controls more than 876MW of installed renewable energy capacity and will reduce curtailment by up to 776GWh/year. This is Splight’s most advanced control algorithm to date and was successfully tested in real-time by our customers ACCIONA, Enel Chile, wpd Chile and validated by third independent parties such as Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional, Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica DIE Usach and the C-SES research group. Splight's technology increases transmission capacity using data and algorithms, optimizing the grid’s use for all electric system participants.

Splight ha alcanzado un importante y novedoso hito en el proyecto "Automatización de Control de Transferencias de la línea Charrúa - Santa Clara - Mulchen 2x220kV", relacionado a los ensayos Hardware In The Loop (HIL). Este hito nos ha permitido validar en tiempo real el algoritmo de control de este sistema, el cual será el caso de uso más grande y avanzado de la tecnología de Splight implementado en el Sistema Eléctrico Nacional de Chile. Agradecemos la confianza y liderazo de nuestros clientes ACCIONA, Enel Chile, wpd Chile, y la participación del Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional, el Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica DIE Usach y el grupo de investigación C-SES, quienes validaron el sistema. Este proyecto reducirá los vertimientos de los parques eólicos que operan en la zona, sumando 876 MW controlados y optimizando el sistema de transmisión en base a condiciones meteorológicas, lo que conllevará a aportar con 776GWh adicionales de energía renovable en la región del Biobio. Con esto hito Splight continúa en el camino del despliegue de su tecnología para la reducción de restricciones sobre generación renovable.

🏆 Out of nearly 100 energy tech ventures, Splight was selected by investors as one of the “10 Most Promising Companies” at the 21st Annual Rice Alliance Energy Tech Venture Forum hosted by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship on September 11-12, 2024. The event was an anchor event for the inaugural Houston Energy and Climate Startup Week, bringing global attendees to Houston. More than 75 investor groups participated in one-on-one meetings during office hours with companies, and there were nearly 750 meetings.
