About us
Founded in 1872, St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) is a fully integrated, regional, non-profit network of more than 20,000 employees providing services at 15 campuses and 300+ outpatient sites. With annual net revenue of $3.4 billion, the Network’s service area includes 11 counties in two states: Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Montgomery, Monroe, Schuylkill and Luzerne counties in Pennsylvania and Warren and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey. St. Luke’s hospitals operate the largest network of trauma centers in Pennsylvania, with the Bethlehem Campus being home to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital. Dedicated to advancing medical education, St. Luke’s is the preeminent teaching hospital in central-eastern Pennsylvania. In partnership with Temple University, the Network established the Lehigh Valley’s first and only four-year medical school campus. It also operates the nation’s longest continuously operating School of Nursing, established in 1884, and 45 fully accredited graduate medical educational programs with more than 400 residents and fellows. In 2022, St. Luke’s, a member of the Children’s Hospital Association, opened the Lehigh Valley’s first and only free-standing facility dedicated entirely to kids. SLUHN is the only Lehigh Valley-based health care system to earn Medicare’s five-star ratings (the highest) for quality, efficiency and patient satisfaction. It is both a Leapfrog Group and Healthgrades Top Hospital and a Newsweek World’s Best Hospital. The Network’s flagship University Hospital has earned the 100 Top Major Teaching Hospital designation from Fortune/PINC AI 11 times total and eight years in a row, including in 2023 when it was identified as THE #4 TEACHING HOSPITAL IN THE COUNTRY.

- At St. Luke’s, we care deeply for our patients and employees. Whether it’s providing the highest quality, patient-centric care or respecting the expertise of our inspired staff, St. Luke’s is built on a foundation of trust and support. After being diagnosed with breast cancer following her transition to St. Luke’s, Nicole Baker, ICU Patient Care Manager at St. Luke’s Carbon Campus, experienced being both a patient and provider. She not only received compassionate care from her team when she needed it most but she never doubted their commitment to her in her professional role. She says, “There is such a positive culture here, and I’ve been given every opportunity. They are behind me 1,000%.” Nicole made the switch to St. Luke’s because she found it to be the only place where she could truly find opportunities to grow and advance in her career. Why haven’t you made the switch? Proud of the Balance–Even When It's Messy🖍️ Being a working mom means wearing many hats, and sometimes those hats come with a little chaos. Today, I had a reminder of that reality when my son decided to turn the wall into his canvas during one of my meetings. Crayon everywhere! While it could have been a moment of stress, I couldn’t help but smile at the pride on his face as he showed me his "artwork." I didn’t get upset. Instead, I saw it as a reminder that I’m doing my best — and that’s enough. Sure, I had to whip out the magic eraser later, but I’m proud that I was able to handle it all. I don’t always work from home, but today I was able to because my usual childcare provider (my mom) is dealing with health issues. I’m incredibly thankful to have an employer who supports flexibility and allows me to balance my career and family, especially during tough times. It's not always easy, but today was a great reminder of my ability to rise to the challenge and show up — for my family and for my career. As working moms, we may not have it all together, but we show up with grit and grace. We keep moving forward, even when things don’t go according to plan. Here’s to finding pride in the moments — both the smooth and the messy. 🖍️✨ #stlukesproud St. Luke's University Health Network #careermom #workingmom - St. Luke’s University Health Network and the Temple/St. Luke’s School of Medicine, the greater Lehigh Valley’s first and only medical school, are proud to promote PBS39’s 50th season of Scholastic Scrimmage. It is a good reminder that diabetes affects all of us -- men, women, adults and children alike – and is on the rise. Mandy Marquardt was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 16. As a young athlete, Mandy had aspirations and dreams that went well beyond high school… would that still be possible? Today, Mandy Marquardt is an elite athlete. She is a 27-time national sprint cycling champion, a five-time American record holder and a St. Luke’s Community Ambassador. And by the way, she is still a Type 1 diabetic with the same concerns that you may have. Watch Mandy’s story here.#diabetesawarenessday #diabetesawarenessmonth #stlukesproud
