Career Advice: For anyone thinking about joining the mixer driver team I have a few pointers! 1. Keep your truck clean! It makes you proud and everyone else who sees your truck proud of what you have done! 2. Come to work happy and ready to get as many deliveries done safely as possible! We are always moving you may have a break for a little and make sure to take advantage of that by eating lunch or even cleaning on your truck! 3. Get along with your coworkers! We are all one big happy family here. We spend 10-12 hours a day with each other so if you see someone having a rough day try and help them out and cheer them up! The pictures are from 2 jobs I got sent to and the views were amazing! Another thing we get to see when driving trucks! You get to see the amazing and beautiful parts of our cities and towns! I love the built environment, AKA, the construction industry. Over the last half a decade in the industry, I've learned that my favorite thing about the industry are the people that build our communities and make the world a better place. Something I've learned from those I've worked with is that how we treat others is everything. You can command and demand all you want, but the magic comes when you build true lasting relationships. My advice to anyone coming into the industry or any facet of work is, treat others with respect and kindness whether you feel that they deserve it or not. When you treat others as your equal, they will return in kind. I was once told that I treated some difficult trade partners too nicely, yet as time went on, I received my favorite compliment which went something like this; "they will do things for you when you ask that they would never do for me. Maybe there's something to you being too nice." Thank you to all the amazing people I've worked with over the years!
