This Veterans Day, we extend our gratitude to all veterans for their service and sacrifice. At Symetra, we’re especially grateful for our veteran employees, who bring dedication, leadership and unique perspectives to our team. In honor of Veterans Day, our employee resource group, MERGe, will host a session with retired Army National Guard Lt. Col. William S. Warner. Lt. Col. Warner will share leadership lessons he’s learned on and off the battlefield throughout his multi-decade military career, spanning multiple deployments.

Zeenath and her grandma formed a close bond after moving to the U.S. from Sri Lanka when she was 5 years old. With Zeenath’s parents working multiple jobs to make ends meet, her grandmother became her primary caregiver and closest friend. Her world was turned upside down when her grandma moved back to Sri Lanka—and then was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a short time later.
