About us

Systems Planning and Analysis Inc. (SPA) provides timely and objective analysis and integrated technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business solutions in support of important national security objectives. We expand our capabilities to meet the evolving needs of our Nation and will always adhere to our core values of quality, integrity and honesty as we promote an environment of innovation and collaboration. Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc., was founded in 1972 with three employees working primarily with the U.S. Navy, leading major technical support programs for the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). The result of this work has led to numerous major decisions involving the Trident Weapons Systems. Over the past four decades, the needs of our clients have evolved, and so has SPA. SPA has expanded its customer base and experience to cover a wide range of missions and clients in the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Energy. SPA has been recognized with awards including Government Contractor of the Year ($75M-$300M category) by the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards, as a Best Places to Work by the Washington and San Diego Business Journals for several years, a Top Workplace by the Washington Post, and as one of DC's Healthiest Employers.

A team from SPA's Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) Group recently participated in the 18th Annual San Diego Chapter of Naval Intelligence Professionals Charity Golf Tournament. The event, held at the Sea 'N Air Golf Course at Naval Air Station North Island, supports the Rear Admiral Sumner Shapiro Scholarship Program. Dependent children of Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard officers and enlisted intelligence personnel are eligible for this scholarship. To date, the San Diego Chapter has raised over $60,000 for this cause! SPA's Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) Group has a prime opportunity as an ORCA Campaign Integrator in Alexandria, VA. The individual will participate in project teams to design, build, and execute constructive simulations, analyze and synthesize large data sets with various analytic frameworks, and support the preparation of deliverables. ORCA develops and employs simulation system products in support of operations, experimentation, and the acquisition analysis process. Hosted by the Gabriel Chapter - 433 of the Air, Space, and Cyber Forces Association, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of the "Missile Crew of the Year” award, presented by Chapter President Mike Winters; Maj Gen Stacey Jo Huser, Commander, 20th Air Force; and Gen Tony Cotton, Commander, USSTRATCOM. SPA Strategic Division personnel attended the Department of Energy (DOE) National Cleanup workshop in Arlington, VA, this week. The group benefited from insights from DOE decision makers, site leaders, and experts as they discussed the successes and challenges facing the nuclear cleanup industry.
